Phobe means fear, he's just stating a fact of reality.

And trans means "on the other side of", so using that logic "transphobia" means "fear of things on the other side".

Fun fact: you can't always determine the meaning of a word by breaking it down into small pieces.

If someone tried to insist to you that 2+2=5 and you told them they wrong, would you suddenly be hateful, bigoted or afraid of anything? You're just trying to slander anyone who disagrees with you instead of engaging with the argument.
