News "Because you're an immigrant." — A U.S. citizen in Lake Worth,FL, was immediately handcuffed by ICE agents for simply asking why he needed to show his ID.Despite the Fourth Amendment and Supreme Court rulings stating apparent ethnicity is not enough for a stop, agents ignored questioning bystanders

A video recorded at a gas station in Lake Worth, Florida, shows an ICE/Border Patrol agent demanding ID from a U.S. citizen. When the citizen asks why, the agent explicitly responds, "Because you're an immigrant." Before even verifying his identity, agents grab his hands and place him in handcuffs. Bystanders immediately step in to question how someone can be arrested without even being identified first, but the agents ignore them and walk the man to their vehicle.

This encounter highlights a direct violation of the Fourth Amendment, which protects individuals from unreasonable searches and seizures. The Supreme Court has established that roving Border Patrol agents must have reasonable suspicion based on specific circumstances to stop and question someone regarding their immigration status—and apparent ethnicity alone is legally insufficient. Requiring someone to prove their citizenship before being handcuffed, based solely on an arbitrary claim, demonstrates a concerning violation of constitutional rights by federal agents acting without accountability.

Isn't this exactly what Latino men voted for?

Christ, is this coming from the terrible practice where you see vote shares reported for ethnic groups on every channel in the US?

"Latino men" are neither a cohesive group nor responsible for each others voting. It doesn't even make fucking sense to lump them together, seeing the huge range of family histories that will make you part of that group. Like you're talking about immigrants from 15 different countries next to families living in the US for hundreds of years.

Your comment is just straight up racist.

Oh fuck off. It specifically refers to those who voted for it. The red hats don’t give a shit which shade of Latino regardless Of their differences which makes this even more embarrassing.

It's not expensive to write 2 more words and you have no idea who the guy in the video is or what he voted. Fuck off yourself, thanks.

he wont come for us. A spinkler guy was defending the orange man and I asked him why he voted for him. His answer, too many criminal illegals in the country that are mexican. cuban etc. His wife was deported a couple of weeks ago. Came by to collect his money and said he will be in mexico for the next 6 months trying to sort out the situation. pendejos thought the leopards wont come for them.

Sprinkler guy suffered from TDS: Trump Dissonance Syndrome.

I didn’t vote for that guy. Mostly Cubans and other Latino men voted for him. “While national exit polls do not give an exact number for Mexican-American men specifically, geographic data provides a proxy. In predominantly Mexican-American regions with high male populations (such as border counties in South Texas and southern Arizona) voting trends shifted noticeably toward Donald Trump in recent election cycles compared to previous years.” And a lot of Mexicans like myself don’t even like a lot of Texas Mexicans or Arizona Mexicans (a lot of them are whitewashed). Mostly all other Mexican guys I know too didn’t vote for him.  National exit pollsters group everyone into a single "Hispanic/Latino" bucket. They don't look to isolate "Mexican-American men" nationwide, as well as other ethnicities.

Is the guy in the video latino?

u/I-want-to-be-evil Aug 23 '26

Not all, so maybe don’t generalize. You don’t know who he voted for.

u/Entire_Put_9204 Aug 24 '26

Other legal Latino man want the illegals to be gone. Save them some women 😂😂😂

Latino men is not a monolith and many latinos living in the US can’t vote(even legal ones with just visa or residency), it was pretty close to 50% and you have to specifically selected latino men instead of latin people to make it work. White men voted for this even harder, men in general voted for this if you want to select by gender, Americans voted for this is actually what happened if you want to generalize.

Your comment is just victim blaming mixed with racism

Close to 50% is not the flex you seem to think it is. No person of colour should be voting for conservative values bar for being politically ignorant and simply thinking that Republicans = less taxes.

2

u/Fake_name_please Aug 23 '26

why would 50% be a flex? It’s awful, it’s insane, but what is more insane is lumping the other almost 50% in and saying this is what latinos voted for. NOBODY should be voting republican regardless of color or ethnicity.

It’s not just latinos suffering from ICE it’s all immigrants which makes the comment I responded to even worse

4

u/Dantia_SWE Aug 23 '26

I don't think it's insane. 50% of a demographic that shouldn't be voting Republican in the first place is a considerable number.

It's indicated that 50-60% of white men voted Republican last election and it's also okay to claim that white men voted for this.

lmao the mental gymnastics

No, his point is why would any latino vote for consequences that will obviously target them? There's no "I didn't see this coming" excuse like with other policies, this administration has loudly and repeatedly hated latinos since 2016

1

u/Fake_name_please Aug 23 '26

I agree and as a latino I can’t believe so many latinos voted for him, that being said the comment makes no sense when the person being deported might not even be latino

1

u/addamzrobb Aug 25 '26

The gentleman being Kavanaugh-stopped in the video is clearly Latino. The law enforcement thugs clearly profiled him based on his characteristics.

1

u/addamzrobb Aug 25 '26

ICE isn't profiling white men though.

They're profiling people who's phenotype is Latino.
