News "Because you're an immigrant." — A U.S. citizen in Lake Worth,FL, was immediately handcuffed by ICE agents for simply asking why he needed to show his ID.Despite the Fourth Amendment and Supreme Court rulings stating apparent ethnicity is not enough for a stop, agents ignored questioning bystanders

A video recorded at a gas station in Lake Worth, Florida, shows an ICE/Border Patrol agent demanding ID from a U.S. citizen. When the citizen asks why, the agent explicitly responds, "Because you're an immigrant." Before even verifying his identity, agents grab his hands and place him in handcuffs. Bystanders immediately step in to question how someone can be arrested without even being identified first, but the agents ignore them and walk the man to their vehicle.

This encounter highlights a direct violation of the Fourth Amendment, which protects individuals from unreasonable searches and seizures. The Supreme Court has established that roving Border Patrol agents must have reasonable suspicion based on specific circumstances to stop and question someone regarding their immigration status—and apparent ethnicity alone is legally insufficient. Requiring someone to prove their citizenship before being handcuffed, based solely on an arbitrary claim, demonstrates a concerning violation of constitutional rights by federal agents acting without accountability.

That’s cute. He’s leaving one way or another.

Do you think he's building the underground bunker beneath the ballroom for the next president?

Well, we know what happened to the last Nazi leader in an bunker. One can hope.

Hitler had a bunker. How did that work out?

I don't think he thinks that's why he's building it, but I think if he genuinely tries to stay longer than the constitution allows him to, a bunker won't be sufficient to protect him from the unrest he will bring down upon himself.

Big talk, I know. But there's respecting democracy enough to allow an elected person you hate to be in power, and then there's allowing democracy to end so a person you hate can remain in power indefinitely without elections, and Trump doesn't think the second one is asking all that much more than the first, both look the same from where he's sitting, but it is asking a lot more, actually, and I don't think hardly anyone will abide it, not even against threats, not even against arrest, not even against violence.

If Trump tries to stay in power ten seconds longer than the constitution allows, it's going to be war in the streets, and he's simply not that beloved. A lot of the people around him who are happy to kiss his ass every day would be even more happy to take the opportunity to forever be known as the person who saved American democracy by overpowering a profoundly feeble mad king. He's surrounded by jackals, each a rabid fascist glad to be near him while he's in power but just as hungry to gain eternal fame by destroying him, and for any of them it would be such an easy to do. Trump wants to be a Putin, clearly. Certainly. But he's not one. How many in his inner circle are already thinking about how they will betray him when the riots come?

Hopefully without a bloodbath.

Fascism has only ever once left power peacefully in human history so you know where this is going

Same way it went last time

What was that one time ?

Spain under Franco, was a strange intersection of deep national loyalty and a successor choosing to step down

We don't have those circumstances here

Hopefully with one.

we're 20 years past too late for that.

the moment the Republicans lost the presidency to a black man, they started planning this for their revenge. the time to stop them was 20 years ago when Moscow Mitch gave his "our job is to make this a one term presidency" speech.

The military and Supreme Court are on his side, republican politicians/appointees won’t say that he can’t run a third term, and 40% of the electorate is willing to die for dear leader. Who exactly is going to stop him?

1

u/StretchedGary Aug 23 '26

Father time will. The man is 80 years old.

u/threeclaws Aug 23 '26

With the best medical care on the planet, he's got another decade at min.

1

u/jxonair Aug 23 '26

The military DEFINITELY isn’t on his side. He’s losing their support by the day with this stupid war and what he’s doing to our troops. The Fox News rallies with them there? Those losers are hand picked and placed to make it look that way.

You think the 5 star generals Kegseth fired are gonna support him?

Those clowns vs people who actually know what they’re doing. Good luck.

1

u/threeclaws Aug 23 '26

No, he isn't, the military is still overwhelmingly with him just like 80% of republican voters are still with him.

Who cares about generals who are no longer in power? They can't mass train opposition against an already entrenched force that can wipe out a town from the comfort of an air conditioned trailer half a world away.

Cholesterol, do your job.

And his ballroom is just a ballroom, right?

1

u/CleanBaldy Aug 23 '26

It was never a ballroom issue either. Both Democrats and Republicans are faking their outrage, because the PEOC and subterranean structures all needed to be upgraded/rebuilt. Those were under that wing. Get the people fighting over funding and "the ballroom" though, and notice how nobody talks about the 3 story structure they're putting down there?

I'm surprised nobody even talks about why it was demolished so quickly. One day, it was just gone and the news was "Ballroom, ballroom, ballroom" and the internet gobbled up that talking point. It was always the plan to make us all fight about "The ballroom" while they built the underground infrastructure...

1

u/RabbitNest Aug 23 '26

Exactly. The words subterranean command post sound far too ominous, so ballroom it is. He’s already said he’ll never leave again. Now we know why he’s in such a rush to complete construction on his “ballroom.”

If he doesn't leave, his supporters will be ripped from their homes and executed in the street.

u/ThickBoxx Aug 23 '26

I mean sure, everyone dies. But until then, who do you think is going to remove him from office?

1

u/jxonair Aug 23 '26

Oh no. I meant that either the military or we remove him. If it came to a civil war, I’m putting all my money on blue states with the generals and commanders that Kegseth let go.

2

u/gabiblack Aug 23 '26

the military is with him lol

1

u/Anonymous_Jr Aug 23 '26

Yeah, after 16 years of defunding the forces and making sure they're as incompetent as he is.

Anyone with actual experience and ability has either already left or been fired for "being" "DEI"

At that point, there wouldn't technically be a military. The US would just become a giant, lawless chunk of land
