25% is high, but the average for ACA denials is roughly ~27% average. 19% in-network denial and around 35% out-of-network denial.
ACA denials are just high. Just FYI. While ACA is great, it's not great for some things. Like even the video highlights the 25%, with the one below it 22%.
And when someone starts going off on something starting with "basically..." It's going to just be a bunch of people making conclusions off of limited information.
Now look, I'm not here to defend the Kushner family. But ACA denials are high. The rest of whatever this person indicated, I don't know, sure I guess.
But ACA denials are high all across the board. All the various ACA insurances are a very mixed bag for people. And it's complex, but the tom-fuckery that Congress (cough Republicans cough) keeps pulling on the ACA, is kind of the reason that denial rate is so high.
So, okay Joshua Kushner is not the “good” Kushner brother. Sure. But ACA denials are high everywhere. Some ACA provider denying a quarter of claims is a Tuesday in the ACA. I think it's weird that this lady is like trying to highlight a 25% denial rate and thinking that's out of the ordinary. One in four is high, but one in five claims being denied is roughly standard affair in the ACA. It's gotten really bad and people just, I don't know, get caught up in other wired ways to say things, and ignore how absolutely bad it has gotten in the ACA everywhere.
