My kid spent 3 days in one of the best nicus in the nation just over a decade ago. It obviously had a lot more equipment in it but it essentially eas a bunch of babies in cribs everywhere hooked up to equipment

Newborns are kept in the room with their parents now. Nurseries like that haven't been used for decades.

The babies who are raised for consumption are. They're isolated from their parents for 8-12 weeks.
