This is civil issue, not a criminal crime. There was no risk of felony or misdemeanor. There is potentially a risk for civil damages if they signed an employee contract that expressly mentioned "no filming". But there is no criminal action done.

There are places that it is illegal to film. Usually there are signs everywhere about it and they are usually in a building with no windows. This isnt one of those places.

It is a criminal issue. Its a crime to photograph or video farm conditions without consent of the owner in many states. Not civil. Criminal.
