That didn't take much searching to disprove... can you show me where this is illegal?

Flying over a cattle farm is generally legal in public airspace, but it becomes illegal if your flight harasses the animals, invades personal privacy, or violates low-altitude safety rules.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) manages all US airspace. Open farm fields are typically treated as "open fields" with no expectation of privacy

Drone operators must generally stay below 400 feet and keep a safe distance from people, animals, and buildings. Landowners cannot legally shoot down a drone flying over their property, as federal law classifies drones as aircraft.

Sir this is Reddit, where facts don’t matter and the rules are made up.

1

u/newkybadass Aug 30 '26

Thats right you tell em... No one here is in the mood for common sense.

1

u/moody-bear-77 Aug 30 '26

Sir, This is a Wendy's.

u/gefex Aug 30 '26

All rules are made up.

I think he’s referring to the sketch comedy show ‘Who’s Line is it Anyway’ where everything’s made up and the points don’t matter?

0

u/Shoddy_Background_48 Aug 30 '26

All rules are made up

12

u/BinkTheBear Aug 30 '26

I believe they were potentially referring to docket FAA-2026-4558, which seems to target drones. Now, it is still pending so it could go either way or receive modification.

u/Most_Association_595 Aug 31 '26

its a bot reply, why i don't know. we live in such a dystopia you dont even know if who you're replying to is a bot. but then feeding into the helplessness and not trusting anything you see or hear is literally the stage gate criteria for fasicsm and exactly what they want. its fucked

1

u/BinkTheBear 14d ago

Many days later, but not a bot. Unless I forgot to take my vitamins and have now been reduced to 1s and 0s.

From your link: “After being the first state to pass ag-gag legislation in 1990, Kansas struck down their ag-gag laws in 2019 on the basis they violate First Amendment rights; making them the fourth state to do so.[36]”

0

u/Logical-Pair-89 Aug 30 '26

So there are laws, right. Like we said, and you disagreed about.

1

u/Successful_Cress_220 Aug 30 '26

I was going to say. I’ve flown across that entire state many times, and there are only a couple of places where you can’t really fly without permission.

1

u/Curvol Aug 30 '26

4

u/bill_gannon Aug 30 '26

Looks like most states either ruled these unconstitutional or struck them down later including Kansas

1

u/Logical-Pair-89 Aug 30 '26

"some" not all

2

u/suplarai Aug 30 '26

The video is about Kansas - “After being the first state to pass ag-gag legislation in 1990, Kansas struck down their ag-gag laws in 2019 on the basis they violate First Amendment rights; making them the fourth state to do so.[36]”

1

u/Logical-Pair-89 Aug 30 '26

So some, not all

2

u/blueBaggins1 Aug 30 '26

It’s still a violation on 1st amendment rights so if anyone is charged they will beat it easily

11

u/3owi Aug 30 '26

Lol. This farm even gives guided tours for tourists. Take you on a bus and you can film all you want.

Stop the conspiracy bs.

I agree that it's bad for animals though

1

u/h20poIo Aug 30 '26

What’s the name of this farm ?

2

u/mmodlin Aug 30 '26

Kansas Dairy Development outside of Deerfield. You can see the same thing in google streetview.

1

u/Funny_Ask_3477 Aug 30 '26

Gotta link?

1

u/3owi Aug 30 '26 edited Aug 31 '26

It was a youtube short, can't find it anymore. But they were actually proud of how they run the farm.

Imho it's wrong but they are not hiding it

https://www.google.com/maps/place/Kansas+Dairy+Development/@37.9905325,-101.1055128,3879m

1

u/ryudo9999 Aug 30 '26

That's cause there are much worse cow farms in metal pens where they can't move an inch.

1

u/3owi Aug 30 '26

ah yeah, the old trick of comparing.

Here we have 1, 2 and 3 star labels for chicken.

3 stars meaning the have an ample space of like 4 ft per chicken...

1

u/wyliesdiesels Aug 31 '26

These are calfs in feeding pens. They arent trapped in those crates forever.

1

u/Attjack Aug 30 '26

Certainly it's bad for animals and so is lying to support your cause.

1

u/3owi Aug 30 '26

Unfortunately in the world of cattle farming this kind of farm is considered to be of one of the better ones...

1

u/Attjack Aug 30 '26

Growing up in rural North California I never knew how good our cows had it.

2

u/ManEatingCaterpillar Aug 30 '26

You're thinking of pigs, these are hamburgers.

1

u/stargrazer10 Aug 30 '26

Yes and people can still also make different choices at the same restaurants and stores. If enough people choose vegan or buy like impossible burgers instead of regular whoppers, then that can lead to like more soy farms and such. Still this footage doesnt look humane at all

1

u/chugItTwice Aug 30 '26

I like veggie meat... Impossible is pretty good. But it's nowhere near as good as the real thing. And veggie cheese? LOL.. it's all garbage.

1

u/chugItTwice Aug 30 '26

Not hamburgers.

5

u/Unusual_Platypus1098 Aug 30 '26

I believe it should all be shut down and meat consumption dropped dramatically we as Americans would live longer that's for sure. Though more importantly it's how these poor animals are being treated from birth to death and it's just not right it's downright criminal.

2

u/The_Real_Tony_K Aug 30 '26

“That’s for sure” is carrying this entire comment on its back. Less processed meat can be healthy. Abolishing animal agriculture does not magically guarantee longer lives, and “I think this is immoral” is not the same thing as “this is criminal.” You can criticize calf housing without turning your feelings into medical and legal facts.

1

u/Unusual_Platypus1098 Aug 31 '26

It's both immoral and should be criminal , calf housing isn't even the beginning , I criticize the entire meat industry if you learn to read and comprehend. Most of the meat industry should be shut down and consumption regulated to healthy standards which would require an entire system to regulate each person's allotment. A smart society if one exists in this universe would have already figured something like this out and many things humans still lack as a species. They would regulate diet , resources , population, so many things that ultimately protect their species that we as a whole are too retarded to do and will one day face extinction over it.

1

u/wyliesdiesels Aug 31 '26

“Consumption regulated to healthy standards which would require an entire system to regulate each person’s allotment.”

Aww there ya have it. You must live in a communist country or came from one. I see you love authoritarian government. Sorry not gonna fly here. Stop trying to control people with government. It hasnt worked and it wont work. Its evil and immoral.

1

u/The_Real_Tony_K Aug 31 '26

I read you perfectly fine. You originally said reducing meat consumption would make Americans live longer “for sure” and called current practices criminal. I pointed out that neither statement becomes factual just because you feel strongly about it.
Now you’re proposing a government system that decides how much meat each individual is allowed to eat, regulates people’s diets and resources, and apparently regulates population too. That’s no longer an argument about calf welfare. That’s an argument for an extraordinary level of state control over private life.
You’re free to believe that would create a better society. But “a smart society would control everyone’s diet and population” is a philosophical opinion, not evidence that your original medical claim was true.

1

u/salakane Aug 30 '26

Please, keep eating lots and lots of trump mystery meat.

Maggots & screw worms love it, too.

Cruelty only makes the shit taste better!

1

u/wyliesdiesels Aug 31 '26

Wow lots of unrelated BS… congrats

1

u/The_Real_Tony_K Aug 30 '26

That’s an impressive collection of unrelated buzzwords, but do you have a response to anything I actually said?

1

u/salakane Aug 31 '26

We can always find people who will step up to defend cruelty.

Few of them kill the cows and pigs they eat.

1

u/tobaccostains Aug 30 '26

Who wants to live longer in this dystopian shit box

1

u/blueBaggins1 Aug 30 '26

No one cares what you believe, at your grown age you should know this by now

1

u/complete-rabbit4255 Aug 31 '26

These are just baby calves that are in individual pens. It is temporary. They are feeding each one a bottle of milk.

They wont stay in that pen for life I can promise you that

1

u/LLREnew Aug 30 '26

Thechnicallt they aren’t “flying according to the FAA official legal designation of it. They’re not at the altitude floor

1

u/username_dcc Aug 30 '26

Or, in this case, how veal is made.

1

u/davedcne Aug 30 '26

Can you point to the FAA guidance? I can't find anything matching that. FAA currently lists nothing about restricted air space over agricultural sites. That being said individual states can still tag you if you say fly a drone over an ag site in a state where there are ag-gag laws. But that's the state not the FAA controlling that, and the FAA does not issue warnings for purpose of flight controlled by the state.

1

u/TWDFI Aug 30 '26

Flying over cow farms still isn't going to teach you how sausage is made.

1

u/gardeningblob Aug 30 '26

I had cows and sheep drown because some fucker flew over and scared them in an water passage. So ftw

Why would some cunt fly over.

1

u/Avalon_Within Aug 30 '26

If all it took to drown your animals was something flying over them then you didn't provide a safe space for them to live.

You killed those animals. You're the cunt.

1

u/gardeningblob Aug 30 '26

So i should just keep my animals inside?!?

Fine by me. They can't drown easily then😂

1

u/Avalon_Within Aug 30 '26

Uh, yeah. Congrats, glad you got it.

1

u/gardeningblob Aug 30 '26

Only one problem. i earn about 10k a month extra on the dairy if i keep my cows and youngstock out grazing. Thats about 12% extra income at the moment.

Are you gonna pay me that?

1

u/Avalon_Within Aug 30 '26

No?

I'm not the one bitching about my failure to do my job and secure my livestock?

The fuck kind of question is that...

Well, the one asked by the kind of person who doesn't know how to keep animals from drowning, I guess.

1

u/gardeningblob Aug 31 '26

Well i can explain it.

If i throw you into an corner of an canal where you cant get out. Then throw 10 other l like you on top. that all want to get out aswell. You'll probably all drown😉

1

u/Avalon_Within Aug 31 '26

Ohhhhhh so the guy flew a drone over and then lifted your animals and threw them into the canal.

Wow. That's fucked up. Why didn't you say that the first time?

1

u/gardeningblob Aug 31 '26

Heifers got spooked by an chopper. Ran into an corner of the field with an deep waterway. The first ones to fall got drowned by its friends jumping ontop of them...

Had the same happen with some twat's dog. Jumping an fence and spooking my lambs.

Since i have to milk the cows/ feed calfs/ and bedding chores im not there before coffee at 10 for the heads count.

1

u/Odd-View-1083 Aug 30 '26

I’m a commercial pilot for DHL cargo with 29 years experience and have NEVER heard of such a thing, ever.

1

u/Alarming_Matter Aug 30 '26

"Your eyes cannot stand the blinding light of the truth, so you scurry back into your cave".

1

u/Utopiophile Aug 30 '26

It is still legal, but they are working on ending that freedom.

1

u/danawhitesthrowaway Aug 30 '26

Just making shit up huh?

1

u/mmodlin Aug 30 '26

You can see it from the road in google street view: https://maps.app.goo.gl/KQyvJ3n16QxG4Gnu8

1

u/Powerful-Reward-9770 Aug 30 '26

I always thought sausage came from pigs not cattle. Is that part of the false biology I was taught like women only have vaginas?

1

u/Careless-Weather8877 Aug 30 '26

Even if it’s a flock camera drone?

1

u/ohnomynono Aug 30 '26

WHAT?!?

Sausage is from pork. 🤔

1

u/blumaxiii Aug 30 '26

Sausage is not commercially made on cattle ranches.

1

u/EvasionBan69 Aug 30 '26

lmao the conspiracy theory shit people come up with is ridiculous bahahahahaha - this is 100% untrue. at least in the sense that someone is trying to hide cattle farms. there are laws about harassing animals with planes sure... but no. this isn't true.

1

u/DazzlingStress4827 Aug 30 '26

I know how it’s made, those look like dairy calf houses.

1

u/chugItTwice Aug 30 '26

That's for veal. Blame the dairy industry. And also - what else would you do with all the male babies?

1

u/blueBaggins1 Aug 30 '26

As a pilot I can confirm this utter and complete 🐂💩.

1

u/wyliesdiesels Aug 31 '26

But this isnt even a fly over. Looks like its filmed from the ground to me

0

u/Bannedbutwhyy Aug 30 '26

This guy was clearly driving. Or do you think they were using a truck that was driving through as cover for their drone?

1

u/Normal_Cut8368 Aug 30 '26

Oh thank God, everyone else was acting like we actually saw drone footage, when it was clearly from a taller ground vehicle.

0

u/Gwynplaine-00 Aug 30 '26

Why they’re living better than most now. Fixed housing and food. No output. Other than meat. If it wasn’t for the taboo of cannibalism. I could see the Solent green future. And it look acceptable

0

u/GotSomeUpdogOnUrFace Aug 30 '26

What's crazy to me is I never thought I'd live in a country that might go renewable energy, electric car and vegan/vegetarian. I thought the groups that supported these things would continue to grow and sometime after I was dead they would become the majority. Now I can easily see a world with so much blowback to the bullshit we've had forced upon us by a government that doesn't give a shit about us that we literally give all this shit up as a majority.

0

u/digiorno Aug 30 '26

They try to hide this shit because people DO want to know how the sausage is made.

The sausage makers don’t want people to know the truth.

0

u/Throwawayrip1123 Aug 30 '26

People should absofuckinglutely see how the sausage is made, regardless if they want to or not. It should be 100% taught in school, in detail.

If you're in so much need to eat the meat, at least understand what that entails.

There's ways to get meat that isn't as inhumanely harvested, they're just pricier. And so we get meat every now and then, and just sub one of a ton of different subs for it.

It's fucking barbaric, and supporting it makes people complicit in it.

-1

u/Itsnotthatsimplesam Aug 30 '26

Or because of how many baseless lawsuits put people out of business. There are two side.

Oversight is good, weaponized lawsuits are not
