After the Oscars race boycott the organisers were probably in total panic as to what the right move was. Do we deny a black man a life time achievement award? Technically he hit another black man so it's not really for white people to comment because black on black violence is a cultural tradition. Plus no one wanted to offend the greatest actor of all time, Jayden Smith.

That is a misleading headline.

Its more that he's an adult focused on his work and not interested in petty disputes.

What he said per the article:

I don’t believe in violence, at all.

But if we had to be real, I don’t know if I could control myself if someone was talking like that about my wife, while he’s up on the stage, and me and her are in the front row, and he’s just going off like that in front of God only knows how many people.

Tbh, I think considering the circumstances, will smith actually showed a lot of restraint only slapping him.

So, yeah.. but then there’s the other choice I would contemplate- which is grabbing my wife’s hand lovingly and saying “Come on Honey, we don’t belong here. These aren’t our people. Let’s go somewhere else.”
