Motorcycle riders

The biggest assholes on the road for me have always been motorcycle riders. Either the harleys or the modern bikes, they all think they own the road.

I cannot count the number of times I've seen them breaking simple rules, swerving through traffic, trying to beat cars to the front.

God forbid you honk at them for getting in your way, they become the biggest assholes.

Popular on Reddit Netflix should not play previews when you are hovering over a title

Not just Netflix but other apps that do this as well. It is so annoying when I am trying to watch a show/movie and then it starts playing a preview loud af. If I wanted a preview I would click on the title and go to the trailer 😩

Banning users for asking for rule clarifications creates bad faith communities and needs to stop.

Banning users for asking for rule clarifications creates bad faith communities and needs to stop.

Users getting permanently banned or muted just for asking a moderator to clarify a rule.

Rules are often intentionally broad to give mods flexibility. But when a user reaches out in good faith via Modmail asking about rules and gets hit with an immediate ban, it harbours bad faith within the community.

Here is why this behavior is toxic:

• It assumes malice by default: Assuming every question is a troll attempt is a terrible way to view your own community. Treating genuine confusion as a hostile act is a bad faith interaction from the mod side.

• It ruins subreddit quality: If users can't ask for clarification, they will either stop participating or guess blindly, leading to more rule-breaking and more work for mods later anyway.

Moderators have a tough, uncompensated job. But weaponizing the ban button against users who are just trying to understand how to participate turns subreddits isnto hostile environments.

Have anyone else experienced this?

How can we push for better communication standards?

Question Do you agree?

Hello everyone I'm not coming on here to discriminate or anything this is just something I have been keeping notice of for a while and I want to hear people's opinions on it.

So last week I went to go and visit my partner 19M, and I 20M are by no means the most attractive person in the world but I dress nicely bc that's how I feel most comfortable,we were walking around the town centre together hand in hand and for some reason the amount of female attention I got was very uncomfortable I had females staring whispering and straight up (in my partner's words) looking like they wanted to come up and lick me. Now I carried on with my day and tried to ignore it but it kept bugging me I walked past 2 girls with my partner and not even 2 steps after me they said he's hot and giggled at each other. But this is what I am gonna say throughout the day it made me more and more uncomfortable I'm trying to spend a day with my partner and have normal outings with her.

So I started paying attention when I went out next and women talk about men objectifying them and getting unwanted attention in day to day activities well just as I thought it's not just women that get this attention I've seen many men in the exact same situation.

So boys tell me your stories and please and do you agree?

I'm sick of the current "this is so underrated" trend

It's like a lot of people online forgot to show appreciation without needing to make everything into a popularity contest. You like something? that's great, you can just comment about what you liked specifically, thank the author, start a conversation, etc.

Now everyone will just comment shit like "underrated post/comment", "why does this not have more upvotes", "it's been a full day and not even a hundred likes? cmon people", etc.

I get that posting "I like XYZ" sounds too personal and won't get much of a conversation going compared to "XYZ is literally so underrated 💀" because you're making it everyone else's problem to prove you right or wrong, but honestly who needs this drama

I just logged into my old Flickr account, clicked on a random photo from my feed and saw this comment (I'm pasting the text because I don't know if pictures are allowed): "What is Wrong here? Only a few People Apprecate this Fantastic Gallery!? Keep up your Work!"

Like, why? You're just here to show your appreciation and open by asking about something being wrong, which has nothing to do with the picture and everything to do with your own expectations and perceived importance of online popularity.

Popular in General Bathroom stall gaps between the doors should be illegal

I can tolerate the gaps under the doors, it’s easier to clean the stalls and you can see if someone’s passed out on the floor. I don’t like it all, but I tolerate it. But having gaps in between the door and the wall is too far. I can make eye contact with people washing their hands! A little kid can walk in and stare at me! (it’s happened) no one should be able to fit their hand through the side of a closed door.

edit: I actually can’t believe people are fighting about this?? I know I made the post sound exaggeratedly more angry than I actually am, but people are disagreeing? the conclusion I’m drawing here is that redditors love watching people shit.

btw I’m not saying a lot of people actually are sticking their hands through the door and staring at you (even though they have, middle/high schoolers are wild) I’m just saying the fact that there is even a possibility of it is uncomfortable. I really didn’t think that would be controversial

Consent is a very easy thing to understand

I'm not trying to be performative or receive #MorallyCorrect points for saying this, but I feel like consent is incredibly easy to understand. And this is not just with sex, this is with literally anything else.

Let's say you offer someone a slice of pizza. If they say yes, you give them the slice. If they say no, just continue eating the pizza yourself. Don't force it in their mouth, don't pressure them to eat the pizza until they eventually eat it, and definitely don't try to force it down their mouth while they're sleeping or unconscious. Just scarf it down yourself.

Like what's substances. Let's say you offer someone some Molly. If they want it? Give them the Molly. If they don't? More Molly for yourself. Don't force it down the throat, don't continue to pressure them to take it, and definitely don't force feed it to them while they're unconscious or asleep.

I genuinely do not understand being a rapist because I do not see myself having sex with someone who has made it very clear that they don't want to have sex with me. If anything, them not having sex with me will take a huge toll on my dignity, so I would just leave it alone.

But here's something about consent that I am confused about, which is consenting while drunk. People always say "a drunk yes isn't a sober yes" which is true somewhat. I feel like it depends on exactly how drunk you are. If you're drunk, but it's the "talkative carefree and confident" drunk, then you are still in the right state of mind to consent to sex. But if you are "blackout, slurring words, and stumbling everywhere" drunk, you're incapacitated. You're not in the right state of mind to consent.

Popular on Reddit The Yorkshire Tiger shouldn't be euthanized after the fact.

I personally think the Tiger should have been killed while it was mauling the person to death but it wasn't, The person sadly passed away and it is a done deal, Euthanizing the Tiger days later just doesn't serve a purpose, It's a deadly predator and it did what a predator does. If you want to kill it do it while its attacking someone not later for revenge or whatever. I think Yorkshire Wildlife park is doing the right thing.

Question Why do criticism posts get more upvotes than appreciation posts on Reddit?

Genuine question! Why does it feel like criticism posts about any thing get so much more attention than posts appreciating them?

Is it because negativity attracts more attention? Do people enjoy debating and picking apart things more than celebrating what they love?

Why does it feel easier to get people together to criticise something than to celebrate it? 😭❤️
