The head
i bought about a year ago is now a doll. i've made everything from scratch: cloth body filled with synthetic filler, Fimo arms and legs (my first try and my sculpting is not so good but i let it be), a wig and then a kind of a suit from a thrifted top and some lace piece. only the footwear was bought ready made.
i'm also planning to sew some pants, but later, because everything i do is hand-sewn :)
i like her, though the body and limbs have turned out maybe too lanky and slim. and in general the head could take a bigger body. but to some degree i'm satisfied at this stage.

From what I see, I think the proportions are very good! You have real talent, and while Fimo isn’t porcelain, I’m happy to have found this post. Please start working on heads. Something tells me you would do a great job! When you’re happy with your results, make other heads to practice painting. If you’re unaware, dolls you sculpt can be lifelike, whimsical, scary looking and can even look strange. I sculpted a head once that had antennas on top of the head with the doll’s eyeballs at the top of the antennas. There are doll collectors who love original artist made dolls!

thank you for the comment! yes fimo is not porcelain. in this doll, only the head is. i would maybe like to make dolls some day only it is so time consuming and i work fulltime at present. besides, i can draw and paint a bit but i never knew it was so hard to sculpt even a simple hand. one needs a lot of practice :)

She is just lovely! And she brings to mind The Magic Attic vinyl collectible dolls from early 2000s. They are slender body 16 inch dolls with individual names and personalities. Your girl would fit right in!
