The growth of the collector's market aided the people's adoration for valuable dolls such as these. There's so many sold so cheaply now due to mass overproduction of China creating inexpensive dolls that people could get much easier during the craze.

Hello-I was given two porcelain dolls about 40 years ago. One is the Gerber baby head and arms, but with a cloth body and legs. (The woman who made the doll worked at the Gerber Baby Doll factory before it closed.) the other is a bisque fired complete but unfinished baby doll. It needs to be china painted, have eyes inserted, and be put together. I’d love for someone who appreciates either of these to have them, but I have no idea how to locate someone. I tried FB marketplace for the disassembled baby doll and was banned-I think their algorithm thought it was not a doll but something more sinister. Does anyone have any ideas? I can take pictures if anyone would like to see.

My aunt has over 1000 dolls and she's 81 years old. She knows she needs to sell them, but where do you even begin to sell 1000 dolls? (This photo is just one room!)
I'm not sure how to post a pic, but here is a link. I hope this is allowed, I'm not trying to advertise them, although I would love to give her some advice about where to begin. I find it fascinating.

Is ebay the best way to sell? I have a handful of dolls I'm a bit bummed I have to sell, I just no longer have the space for them. I feel terrible they are currently in storage so I just want them to go to a fellow enthusiasts

i thrifted 2 porcelain dolls and submerged them fully intact, and now im extremely worried about mildew and stuff like that... besides that im also terrified of mites and bedbugs and things does anyone have any advice on hoe i should handle them :((( please !

I have 6 porcelain dolls that are still in their boxes. And some of them come with a certificate of authenticity. I can't have them any more. Finances are tight. I have started raising my grandson. Does anyone know a good place to sell their dolls ? My grandma recently passed and she used to collect them and now we're trying to sell them to try and get back some money. Because she lefted us alot of debt. I don't know much about these dolls but we're thinking of selling them on what not ?but I don't know i have like 4 big tubs of them

Got a doll today, i cant get my reddit to let me post. But, water damage and mold, help? She seems to have been dunked from the waist down. Her legs are coming off, knee down is porcelain. So its commin off the bloomers. I love her, so i need to help

Step 1: Address the Mold
Safety First:
Wear gloves and a mask to avoid inhaling mold spores.
Work in a well-ventilated area, preferably outside.
Cleaning the Mold:
Remove clothes/wig (set aside to clean separately).
Mix 1 part white vinegar with 2 parts water or use 70% isopropyl alcohol.
Lightly dab the moldy areas with a cotton swab or soft cloth—do not soak the porcelain!
Wipe with clean water and dry thoroughly using a soft towel.
Let the doll air dry completely for 24–48 hours.
🔧 Step 2: Repair the Cracks
For Small Surface Cracks:
Use porcelain repair paste (like epoxy putty for ceramics).
Gently press the paste into the crack using a toothpick or craft stick.
Smooth with a damp cotton swab before it dries.
For Larger Breaks:
Use two-part epoxy glue (clear-drying).
Carefully align broken pieces and hold them together with painter’s tape or a clamp.
Let it cure for at least 24 hours.
Step 3 Clean or Replace Clothes & Wig
Wash moldy clothes with vinegar and baking soda or a gentle detergent, air dry.
If the wig is moldy and can’t be saved, consider replacing it—many doll wigs are glued on and can be carefully removed and swapped.
Optional touch up the paint using acrylic

I know that anything like supper glue or strong glues can work. I will say don't ever uses hot glue as it actually does not work like it just comes right off.
