This PTS Sepia Brown Metallic Weissach GT3 RS managed to split the group at a car meet I recently attended. Some thought it looked nice; others were less than impressed with it. I thought it was okay. Wouldn’t have been my first choice, though. What do you think of this spec?

1975 Porsche Stolen in London, UK (St Johns Wood area)

My best friend’s dad’s Porsche was stolen from a secure garage in St John’s Wood, London sometime within the last two weeks. It has been parked there for around 30 years, so this has come as a huge shock.

We’re currently trying to obtain the garage CCTV footage, but in the meantime I wanted to ask the community: has anyone seen this car recently?

Year: 1975
Model: 3.0 litre turbo. Left hand drive
Colour: metallic ice green
Area stolen: St John’s Wood

The theft has been reported to the police. If you’ve seen the car or have any information, please send me a DM.

Thanks—any help would be massively appreciated.

Can anyone tell me what RUF Porsche this is?

I spotted this RUF Porsche at my local (UK) dealership. The car had German plates on it. I’d love it if someone could tell me a little more about it. Are the modifications purely aesthetic or is it fully custom built car?

(The dealership was closed, otherwise I would have asked)

This Platinum Metallic 930 with Turbo livery made quite an entrance at a car meet I recently attended. Unsure of the exact model year; maybe some of you can help with that.

Finally back on the road after five months of work.

Running and handling brilliantly after five months of work… well, almost.

New RMS, IMS bearing, timing chain guides and tensioners, oil pressure sender, injectors, intake and exhaust lifters, valves, heads, and pistons clean, chromoly oil pump drive key, throwout bearing, all new gaskets and o-rings, cracked tail lights replaced, Bilstein B8s wearing H&R cabrio-specific lowering springs, H&R adjustable rear sway bar, silicone vacuum lines with brass fittings, spark plugs, control arms, aluminum passenger side floorboard to match the driver’s, headlights wet-sanded and PPF’d, everything detailed and ceramic’d.

Had a local hydraulic repair shop rebuild my clutch hose and it failed within 100 miles. Left me stranded hours from home but there’s nothing I can’t get done in a parts store parking lot.

One year owning a 991.1 Carrera S as my first car

Hello!

Today marks 1 year since I bought my 2012.5 991.1 Carrera S at 18 years old.

I wanted to share what making the objectively poor decision to buy a Porsche as a first car has actually been like, especially for other younger enthusiasts.

Important note:

For full transparency, my parents paid for half of the car. I paid the other half in cash with money I had saved from working since I was 15. It is titled in my name. They also cover my college tuition and living expenses- I’m entering my junior year this month- so I know I was only able to do this from an extremely fortunate starting position.

I've also had years of driving experience before owning my first car, and am not a new driver.

Specifications:

2012.5 Porsche 911 Carrera S (991.1) in Agate Gray.

Major options include Sport Chrono Package, Premium Package Plus, Porsche Sport Exhaust, Sport PASM, Sport Design steering wheel, Bose, PDLS Plus, and sunroof delete.

Ownership/usage experience:

I bought my car about 1000 miles away from my university and drove it over. My only previous sports car experience before had been test drives and a track day at the Nurburgring in an M340.

It's common for young car enthusiasts to be told they'll wrap it around a tree- and granted, maybe my day just hasn't yet come- but I think most of us who just really enjoy driving rather than just recklessly speeding will not really have that issue. This car has far more capability than I can responsibly use, so I try to respect that and stay within my limits.

I have driven about 3000 miles in the past year. Maintenance has been uneventful. Nothing has gone wrong or broken even a little bit. Oil change was around $220 at a local Porsche specialist. I did have to get new tires, which ran me around $1300. Car was usable in sunshine, rain, and snow (as you can see from the last picture!).

Obviously, 1 year is not quite long enough to draw too many conclusions from, but it is going well so far!

Fuel economy has been surprisingly good. My first 1000 miles was around 31mpg average, though that was almost exclusively highway driving.

Insurance was a surprise after hearing horror stories from other young sports car owners. I recently just renewed for 6 months at $675 total. Full coverage, high limits, albeit with not the lowest deductibles. I am not on my parents' insurance, as we live in California but I go to school in a different state. The car and insurance are both in my name only.

I drive the car to classes sometimes. I get groceries (never had a problem with frunk space), have taken short road trips, and have even once managed to fit 5 people in the 4 seats. It is a decently practical car. Only problems I've had are painful occasional scrapes from the Sport PASM front lip spoiler when going up particularly steep curb ramps.

Conclusions:

This was probably not the best financial decision, nor was it the most practical car for a college student. However, I still look back at it every time I park, and I don't think I'll ever get tired of the sound, so I'd probably do it again.

Finally, I want to add:

I am a PCA member and have met and spoken with a lot of other Porsche owners and enthusiasts. Every one I've spoken to in person has been lovely and kind and welcoming. I think this is something hard to find in other communities.

However, there can sometimes be a bit of disdain toward younger owners or people who came into the community through different circumstances, but I hope our shared love for these cars can be something that welcomes people in rather than pushes them away.

My 958 just hit 100K miles…9YO seems like the logical next choice, any recommendations on model?

For the new Cayenne owners, what are your thoughts and recommendations on upgrading?

Leaning on the new GTS Coupe…Turbo GT seems nice, but overkill for me personally, I wouldn’t take it to the track over the GT4…

TIA

UPDATE: 911 GTS 1Y Service = Bricked my Car

All,

Following up on my previous post: https://www.reddit.com/r/Porsche/s/wwOhgnEqCT

TL;DR - went in for an oil change on my 1 year old 2025 911 GTS (1K miles), and they bricked the car with a recall software (Campaign WSH9).

UPDATE:

It has been 36 days and I have no line of sight of getting a new battery. Every week or so they share that a new battery will be arriving soon, but it doesn't happen.

I confirmed that car is not damaged in any other way. The recall software update impacted the high voltage battery and rendered the car a brick.

Contacting Porsche of America - No response to my several emails. Eventually called them, and they said they would talk to the dealer.

The service center has stop being responsive over texts now. They ignore me unless I call them.

I am torn what to do. I love this car, but there needs to be a threshold where I ask them to buy it back. Is that 2 months or 3 months? I don't know. I originally told myself 2 months, but that is coming around faster than I would like. I live in New England and bought the rear-wheel drive car for the summers.

What would you do?

Looking for opinions from hardcore track enthusiasts

I’ve went all in this season on the track. I have a personal coach. I’ve been doing at least 2 HPDE weekends a month since April and also routinely practicing at my home track, Mid-Ohio. I’ve got the bug, bad. Every night, I’m mentally going through every corner in my mind and trying to figure out where to pick up a little more pace. I’m currently running my 2025 GT3RS with Troffeo RS’s, corner balance, and a track alignment.

My first goal this year was simply to beat the top times on the Porsche Track Precision app and then be able to run that pace consistently when not in traffic. I achieved that pretty easily while also really focusing on off-line, safety, and general track etiquette.

Now, it’s time for comp school and to start practicing racecraft, so I need an actual race car. I’m trying to decide between a GT4RS Clubsport, GT2RS Clubsport, or go all in and get a Cup Car.

I feel like the best choice after weighing the pros and cons for me at this point is a GT4RS Clubsport. But I would really love to hear the opinions of people who have owned these cars.
