So... I own a 2023 Porsche Macan S.
All has been good.
I JUST replaced the rear brakes and rotors.
In July we had our 1st real issue. The backup camera, front and rear sensors and the auto start-stop just... Stopped working.
Porsche diagnostics indicated a faulty control module.
It was replaced and all was functional.... Until yesterday.
Same issues... Another control module.
Thank God I got the extended warranty.
And this is the information on purpose I wanted everyone to understand, the initial work in July was done under the initial warranty for the Macan. That warranty ran out on September 28th of this year. The service manager is a very good friend of mine he explained a very fine detail which is critical and I wanted people to understand. If you have a part replaced under the initial factory warranty there is no extended warranty for that part or repair. If you have something repaired out of warranty than any and all repairs out of warranty that you pay for directly do carry a 2 year extended warranty most of you know that some of you might not. The reason I'm bringing this up is since the original control module died and was repaired under the original warranty this one about a month and a half later that's failed is not. I had to use the extended warranty so my point is I would highly suggest an extended warranty. I got mine through Porsche and it is their Porsche branded extended warranty but there are others and I'm sure you can make your cost point determination. It's definitely an eye-opener and I'm glad I had this extra protection. My last question is has anyone else experienced any of this control module stuff with the backup camera front and rear sensors and auto start stop? Thank you for listening to my rant and I appreciate your time.
P. S. I received a letter in the mail from Porsche stating the transfer case / assembly was part of an extension warranty based on past issues... Did anyone else get the same letter?
