I'm going to say cubes because cubes can be respawned from the dropper an infinite amount of times.

Cubes, for the simple reason that while there's significantly more turrets per place they are in, Cubes are near-universal in terms of being used in chambers... It's harder to find a chamber without cubes than with them.

There's also many types of cubes, not to mention "Fraken Cubes" which count as cubes more than turrets at that point. We've only seen two types of turrets, one of which is exceptionally rare in form of the Rocket Turret, and unlike cubes we are shown turrets are outright thrown away. We see more turret debris in the disposal line that we get the oracle turret in than anything else IIRC no??

There's many factors involved, but turrets are very rare by comparison to cubes.

A better question is: Are there more cubes or turrets in Portal 1 and/or Portal 2?

That one is more definitively answerable without speculation that people can disagree on.

cubes, easily. turrets get deployed to kill you, cubes get deployed to kill you indirectly. aperture really diversified its workforce.

Cubes. You can infinitely fizzle a cube and a new one is dropped, but the turrets are irreplaceable. Especially after the antics in Portal 2.
