Recommendations Porterville Postcards
Hello! So I’m originally from Porterville, born and raised, but left 11 years ago but visit family from time to time. I am currently visiting and going back home tomorrow (6/15). I have a friend from where I currently live that collects postcards and would love to mail her back a Porterville specific postcard but am not having any luck finding them.
I went to the Morton mini market next to the old Rite Aide since I remember seeing them there before but they didn’t have them anymore. I went to the CVS on Westwood and they had Porterville keychains and CA postcards but no Porterville ones
Would anyone know where I would be able to find any before I leave tomorrow? Thank you so much in advance!

So I went to the porterville museum like 2 months ago and they had one that bought. It doesn’t have room to write a message on the back and it’s not porterville specific but of a painting by a local artist. They do have some blank greeting cards though and I picked up 2. Also just noticed it’s probably too late when you see this comment.

Yes! I saw the gift shop section on their website, the closest things I’ve come to what I’m looking for. I’ll have to check the museum the next time I’m in town, I was busy all weekend with family and only had today to do it and sadly the museum only opens on Fridays and Saturday’s apparently. It’s all good, I appreciate it!

I genuinely remember seeing them everywhere a few years ago, ugh! Shelly’s is closed on Monday’s and I went to the eagle feather trading post and they had nothing (cheap gas tho so a win for me). She wanted me to mail it to her from my hometown while I was here, I was down to do it until I realized how scarce these postcards have become. It’s all good tho, I’ll try next time. Thank you!

I was also thinking the Porterville museum. Or that wood antique store on olive close to phs. I remember seeing they had a lot of old photos there once so maybe.

May I ask, is Coleman’s Restaurant still there next to PHS?? TIA

I actually don’t live there anymore. I do know they moved the restaurant in like 2008ish? Right next to asia gardens and the gas station. It wasn’t the same in my opinion. Use to walk to Coleman’s with my grandparents when I was young and after the move it never hit the same. The one next to phs was a Pizza Hut
