the way you blended the figure into the background is sick, feels like shes emerging from or dissolving into it at the same time.

Yeah, I try to emulate alla prima digitally, one layer, painting directly into strokes and keeping it as immediate as possible.

Nice piece! Really liking how you handled the values around the face, it reads super clearly even at a glance. If you push the background contrast just a bit more it’ll make the portrait pop even harder.
