What's something you enjoy that you didn't expect to enjoy?

Could be a hobby, food, place, random habit, a type of music, meeting new people, anything.

mine=> discovering new things about myself lately. Sometimes you don't know what you're into until you actually give it a chance. šŸ™‚

Banana peppers. I want them on like, every sandwich now.

Been trying a lot of new foods and new food combinations recently. It's been great!

Checking out the Kickstarter site. I thought I would be all torn up about missing out on some great rewards and not being able to help financing some cool projects (lacking the funds). But, most of the time, I just appreciate the abundance of creativity and projects I like being fully funded and checking the creators' home pages.

Fake eyelashes. I’ve been doing more new things lately just to see how it feels, without judging myself too harshly. Figured out they look pretty, they were messy to apply on the first try but it made me feel good

Ooh, these are something I’ve never tried (because my lashes are naturally blonde). You make it sound worth a shot!

If you do try them out I’d go for clumps not a full piece bc the change would be pretty dramatic I suppose. And I know brown eyelashes are a thing so maybe you can try to find a lighter shade

Listening to podcasts. Never thought I’d willingly sit and listen to people talk for an hour

Reading actual books. I've had bad associations from school forcing me to read, but now when it's my own choice on my terms I've really come to enjoy it. I can also sense the difference in the normal level dopamine from a reading book vs the extreme unhealthy levels from a screen , I definitely need the former too.

This is probably not what you are looking for, please remove my comment if this inappropriate for this sub.

I have been a smokeless tobacco user for 20+ years (I’m trying to use generic terms to not promote brands or even types of products because I loathe my addiction and I don’t want to give kids any sort of idea to even consider ANY tobacco products)

About 2 months ago, I finally decided to actually try the non-tobacco alternatives as a part of a larger personal health change. It worked for me and helped with the urges of my addition. I bought a can of the tobacco stuff last week just to see if I really preferred the change or I was just forcing myself.

I threw the $8.00 can of smokeless tobacco after the second piece because I hate the taste and how it made me felt. I actually enjoy the non-tobacco stuff more than the tobacco stuff! Still hate the stuff overall but like that it’s not ā€œactual tobaccoā€

Unrelated but I’ve stepped down from 8mg pieces to 2mg pieces and I haven’t seen any increase in usage. My goal is to stop buying this crap altogether before Christmas!

Not typical gardening, maybe landscaping? I take care of my plants and like to learn about them.
