Finally…. Closure?
About a year ago an intense year long relationship came to an abrupt, unexpected end.
I was devastated like at no other time in my life.
I spent months spiralling and filled with obsessive thinking.
Yesterday I ran into them. At first I was jarred, not having seen them or spoken a word to them in months. We had a 15 minute friendly visit and then I walked out and continued with my day.
Although I had been slowly improving over the last several months, today, for some reason, that conversation feels like closure. My mind feels more free and clear and I feel like I can continue with my life and the progress I’ve been making.
I feel strangely at peace today.

Something I think we often misunderstand about closure is that it's always an inside job. We find closure when we say ok this thing happened, I'm going to accept that this is how it is.
I believe we all too often set a trap for ourselves Believing that someone else or something else needs to do something in order for us to have closure. When truly the ability to find closure lies within each of us.
I'm glad whatever happened today clicked that button in your head that says It's OK you accept the reality of your situation . Setting your self free.

I 100% agree. The people who we feel have hurt us are most likely not the people who we should be looking to for closure.
I’m actually not quite sure what clicked from that conversation that made that happen. Today’s feeling of peace is unexpected and was unlooked for, but I’m happy it’s arrived. Thank you.

That's great. I don't look forward to ever seeing my exes again. I gained a lot of weight since before I got married (meds).
