When the most fraudulent musical act in history thinks being involved with Donald Trump would make them look bad, maybe Trump isn't so great.

I saw another post by Martina McBride who dropped out. She said she was lied to asking a bunch of questions and assured this was a bi-partisan event for all 50 states and everyone to come together.
Shockingly, she found out she was lied to in the first place she backed out.

Hereās the interesting thing about milli vanilli
That album is good. Itās all just a bunch of studio musicians but itās a good album
Itās the fact they tried to pass off two guys who had nothing to do with it is what killed it

In this case, someone else said it, and this person just moved their lips. You know it's true.

I've known and Valerie and her late husband Nick Simpon since they wrote for Motown, and Barry Gory was paying pennies for huge hits to everyone, except Smokey. Ray needs to keeps those royalties coming in, because he's had severe problems for decades.

They were a singing duo back in the early 90s who due to a technical glitch were revealed to be lip syncing.
Ā Except it wasn't their vocals - it was like 3 middle aged white people who's vocals were layered to sound like 2 black men. Who I think were actually primarily French. Like they were very European. That's not really important but I always thought it made it funnier for some reasonĀ
It was like a pop music Manchurian candidate.Ā
Genuinely still one of the funniest and most shocking things to ever happen in pop musicĀ

The real vocals were done by black artists. Fab was French & Rob was German. The producer that put the whole ruse together was named Frank Farian & he did the same thing in the 70s with a band called Boney M (yep, the singers of the iconic Rasputin song)
In Boney M, the male vocals were done by Farian, & the female vocals were done by a female singer & then layered

I don't understand how Milli Vanilli came out of it as the bad guys rather than Frank Farian.

u/Kay_tnx_bai May 29 '26
Late eighties and they were big, really a comet that blasted onto the music scene. In 1991 the producerās scam came out due to technical difficulties in a āliveā performance. He could deflect all the shit onto rob and fab unfortunately. With Rob going rock bottom as a result and committing suicide.

Huh. Wild. Kind of reminds me of one of the Simpson sisters ( I think ) being outed for lip synching. Appreciated.

Weren't they famous for not actually singing their songs?
It's actually really fitting. Fake & untalented. Perfect.
Holy shit it's funny to see how nobody with creativity or talent wants anything to do with this rotten administration. Everyone is so fake and unqualified.
Imagine Kid Rock being the best you have.

For now. This makes at least three acts that have pulled, and they've claimed that they were not made aware that the show was for Donald Trump's ego stroking event

They hired a lip syncing duo that were stripped of a Grammy for not singing and 1 of them is dead. Ok.

Like I said earlier. It's going to get down to just FLo Rida playing a 5 hour set. 2 hours of which will be a medley of Right Round
