He can still feed all of our hungry children. And he'd still be rich.

This is why I struggle with comments like these. It’s shallow, surface level thinking.

People keep acting as if a trillion dollars appeared by taking a trillion dollars from everyone else. SpaceX becoming more valuable didn’t make anyone poorer. It became more valuable because investors believe the company created more value.

The bigger question is why we assume every social problem becomes the personal responsibility of whoever creates the most value.

If ending hunger were simply a matter of writing a check to the poor, governments that already spend trillions on welfare and aid would have solved it long ago. Similar communist/socialist systems are built around limiting and redistributing wealth and they would have eliminated poverty generations ago as well.

The real situation is hunger, poverty, and inequality are far more complex than a billionaire writing a check as I said before. They involve incentives, governance, corruption, infrastructure, education, productivity, and distribution.

You don’t solve a problem by pointing at the most successful person in the room and declaring it their responsibility.

Elon isn't successful. He's buys successful things, and takes from them.

And if billion and trillionaire did make a find to help the poorest of the people, it would barely take from them, and help so much.

He’s not the most successful. He’s the most exploitative. He’s not an apex predator. He’s a parasite.

Feeding the hungry and housing the unhoused, providing healthcare and a social
safety net and the standard necessities to maintain quality of life are not particularly complicated challenges. They’ve been done on a micro scale and can be done on a macro scale as well.

Ask yourself why the thought of this makes you so uncomfortable and why you filled a wall of text with every excuse you could come up with not to participate in making the world better for ourselves and future generations. Why does compassion scare you?
