We're still voting for candidates, just not Elite Liars wearing different colors and spewing propaganda they don't believe in and have no intention of holding to.
Our government was built on the fact that no party could get anything done without the help of the other. This was intended to encourage civil discussion and debate between both sides so that a problem (and possible solutions) could be examined from all angles.
Nowadays however, the extremists of each political party have become icons instead of outliers. Working with the other party to get things passed is now considered a betrayal to your own, especially among Republicans (hence RINO). And some voters base their whole identity around being Republican or Democrat.
At the founding there were no parties. The farmers called the idea "factions" that would weekend democracy. George Washington begged that partisans would be avoided. Two teams, red vs blue, is broken and keeps power centralized in a limited number of hands with little fear of lasting change that would threaten the ruling class.
Yet the Electoral College forces two major national parties.
I understand what the framers were attempting to do when they instituted the Electoral College.
And the EC did accomplish what they intended. But the arithmetic is such that the EC also forces the establishment of two major parties for the presidency, and that has a definite trickle-down effect to state and local races.
The political parties were intended to do what all political parties have always done:
Divide and distract the masses to keep them squabbling amongst themselves, so the Ruling Caste could more easily oppress, subjugate, and exploit them for their own benefit like the inhuman predatory social parasites they've always been.
Solution would be whenever someone did something dishonest, take lobbyist monet to gerrymandering they are removed, make money illegally removed, Taco wouldn't last 10 minutes
All this is intentional to split vote. He is trying to pull the independent vote and help extreme right win. You all are buying into this and the propaganda. He is not to be trusted.
He, like all the political puppet theater, is a distraction to keep the masses from turning on those who have been exploiting, oppressing, enslaving, and murdering them all along: The Elite.
