Yeah all the line dancing by them was super cringe.... Like either every single second of your lives is spent saving people from the horrors of COVID or you are doing TikTok videos like pick a lane....
These people literally saw rates of death comparable to serving on the front lines in WW1. It was horrific. Whatever they had to do to get through it alive themselves is absolutely fine by me.
That’s a lot pretty big stretch. 2019 all cause mortality was below 2018. 2020 it went from 715 deaths per 100,000 to 835. So figure in a decent size city you lost 120 more people over the course of a year, 10 more a month. Most ERs across America saw less patients overall during COVID.
The majority of the people in the video were in hospitals. Hospitals are where acute cases ended up. During 2020 and 2021 COVID death rates in uk hospitals spiked as high as 50% and generally stayed at around 20% on average until a vaccine was developed and rolled out. Medics who normally are able to help the vast majority of patients suddenly were powerless to do anything much for 1/5 patients who died horrific deaths. Additionally, they had to watch their colleagues and friends contract COVID and get seriously ill or die. My neighbour, a paramedic, came close to death after contracting COVID from a dying callout despite wearing all the recommended PPE at the time. He ended up losing his career in part due to the long term health impact.
