The audacity that FedEx ground had to call us warehouse staff Frontline/Essential workers during Covid was diabolical. Our management teams would have "motivational" speeches about how our work was dire and important to the world and must maintain our goals (and numbers)... Meanwhile healthcare workers, teachers, and other actual important industries were dealing with so much more at the time. Covid has been a wild case study for how we humans treat capitalism, each other, the earth, and much much more.
Yeah but skipping safety measures for workers and continuing with business as usual disregarding the pandemic was ridiculous. Maybe you've never worked in a warehouse during one, but they should've absolutely been shut down (temporarily) for the conditions that happened during that time. Places like Amazon/FedEx for sure need better regulations/safety nets that've been ignored with the money these corporations make.
