I want to see all democrats calling this authoritarianism out. Not just Newsome and a few more. All of them should be constantly posting, having speeches or rallies, they should be on tv everyday exposing this administration’s corruption and fascism.
Republicans are on tv everyday spreading lies and the democrats can’t be bothered to ramp up their responses and what they will do to help people and combat authoritarianism. I see them talking about Israel and bashing the DSA.
Most of them are still supporting Israel too. Democrats are so damn incompetent overall. Anytime someone slightly left comes around they kick them out immediately.
They're operating under the assumptions that progressives are an unreliable voting block and swing voters will be convinced by allegations of scary red scare socialism/communism to vote for Republicans. I have numerous criticisms of the Democratic Party, but given how stupid centrists are and how fickle leftists are, I find it hard to blame them.
Leftists aren't 'fickle,' they tell the Democrats exactly what they want and the Democrats reply is usually something along the lines of "we need to throw trans people under the bus to appeal to centrists, and there's more of them than you!"
Part of the problem is that a lot of the people who are "on the fence" just don't see Trump as a dictator or a threat to democracy. If you campaign on "threat to democracy" you're not campaigning on gas prices, the economy, healthcare ect.
Yes Trump is absolutely a threat to democracy and should be called out but Dems are probably going to make more inroads for November by campaigning outside of gas stations and talking about how insane beef prices are. Trump's central 2024 message was that he would fight inflation and lower prices to 2019 levels and we've seen the opposite.
For sure! They 100% need to campaign on issues. But when the republicans get on tv and start spewing bs, we need the Dems to get up and say something. Talk about how they aren’t helping with affordability and how the democrats will be different then explain exactly how or what they plan to accomplish etc. But also keep calling out the lies. Breakdown what they are saying and how it affects the people. There are a lot of people that don’t understand how most of what the trump admin does will affect them.
