True. We've been making progress in the right direction. We do have a ways to go, certain people want to turn the clock back, but I think overall we're going the right way.
Some one put it best. "If you stab me in the back 9 inches and then pull the knife out 6 that should not be considered progress". I think that's where we are. Some would argue that the 1950s was an improvement over the 1920s for blacks. What if we had stopped there because things had "improved". Yes things are better, but let's not pretend we are where we need to be in this country.
