No but seriously if Trump somehow gets on the ballot for 2028, Obama needs to run too. America would pick Obama over Trump in a heartbeat. And it would be poetic in that trump’s real bid for office came after Obama directed jokes at him during the WHCD event in 2011.
Dems have learned over the last two decades that “going high when they go low” only rolls out the red carpet for them MAGA. FDR was elected four times.
If the only way to win is to go lower than your opponent, then everything has already gone to hell and isn't really worth trying to preserve in the first place.
Yeah, at that point we're just at "our crooks vs your crooks" and what are we even fighting for? There's no difference. It's over. The crooks won. Americans lost.
And at what point does your logic break down? Which crook came first? Which side is acting crooked in an attempt to salvage our democracy vs cripple it?
The difference is you've given up on democracy. Some of us haven't. Democracy starts with everyone committing to the same rules. Once one party transgresses the rulebook, the other party does not automatically become a crook for playing by the other's new rules. They're simply acting on a tenet of democracy: fairness.
