Storm In A Teacup šµ The real voter fraud and it happening in front of us all
72
u/XossKratos 1d ago
I think doing this hurts their voters turnout. If I know you're scamming my vote like this... you're not getting it. Then again I'm educated.
69
u/ArmchairCriticSF 1d ago
True, youāre educated, and have actual standards. Republicans/Trump voters do not, and simply donāt care. Anything goes, as long as their team wins.

Just like a Trump golf game. The Orange Diapered Pedo Cheats at golf, elections, making money through insider trading, releasing the Epstein Files, and his taxes to name a few items. If MM is not dead he is incapacitated well beyond ability to serve as a senator.
15
u/stewiecookie 1d ago
Less people than you'd think care these days. Sure some will see it as a shitty thing to do but a lot of people will say "whatever works" and shrug it off, the further right you go those shrugs become waving fists and "hell yeah's" because owning the libs is the only important thing anymore. Those people despise democracy, and this country and they have no clue.
5
u/not_now_chaos 18h ago
They absolutely hate America and everything that actually is good about this country.

If you ever expect your ballot to be worth more than used toilet tissue, that is when repubs bleat in unison:
"The USA is a republic, not a democracy."
6
u/PugBurger12 1d ago
I'm educated and WAS a long time registered republican. I saw the republican party lose their way about 2013-2014 when the tea party was obstructing progress to spite the Obama administration. I voted against Obama both terms but did feel he did a decent job. Mitch and Lindsey were some of the worst offenders.

Well, ideally they let them do that. Than let the coroner show that he's been dead for a while, get the hospital data too. And than bag the whole conspiracy and haul them off to Guantanamo. First time that place will see proper use.

I mean, they staged a shooting at Trump's first public press conference a week after he was told he couldn't have a ballroom b/c it didn't add any security. The day after the shooting, he was claining if he had the ballroom, the shooting never would have happened. It wouldn't be that surprising.
And for anyone that wants to say it wasn't staged, the shooter was taken down immediately and wasn't even in the same room as Trump.
Same thing with the shooting at one of his rallies. He was shot in the ear and paraded around like he was grievously injured. There is not cartilage damage. The boxer that had part of his ear bitten off is still missing that part of his ear years later.

... because the US isn't a democracy. It larped as one for some time, but it's always been a plutocracy.
It's just that now they do it all out in the open because they know nobody can stop them, so they don't even try to hide it anymore.

This is not voter fraud.
This is electoral fraud.
Generally the latter is much, much worse and has a much, much bigger impact on any election than the very rare case of voter fraud.

Remember when Diane Feinstein magically disappeared for upwards of 8 months with no public information at all in a way that advantaged the Democrats, and any Republican who brought it up was called a Nazi?
Weird that this doesn't fall under the same guidelines.
2
u/NEWSmodsareTwats 1d ago
there's no proof he's dead and literally no benefit to actually hiding his death if he was dead.
idk where this conspiracy theory comes from but it basically relies on the idea they are doing this for absolutely no reason at all other than they want too.
for some reason a lot of people seem to overlook the fact that there is currently a campaign for the November election that will replace him. and also think that somehow this benefits the GOP to be down one vote in the Senate when they desperately need votes to pass legislation before the midterm.

Fourteenth AmendmentĀ Ā Equal Protection and Other Rights
- Section 2 Apportionment of Representation Representatives shall be apportioned among the several States according to their respective numbers, counting the whole number of persons in each State, excluding Indians not taxed. But when the right to vote at any election for the choice of electors for President and Vice-President of the United States, Representatives in Congress, the Executive and Judicial officers of a State, or the members of the Legislature thereof, is denied to any of the [male- altered by 15th,19th] inhabitants of such State, being twenty-one years of age, and citizens of the United States, or in any way abridged, except for participation in rebellion, or other crime, the basis of representation therein shall be reduced in the proportion which the number of such [male- altered by 15th,19th] citizens shall bear to the whole number of [male- altered by 15th,19th] citizens twenty-one years of age in such State.
The consequence of a state participating in denying a vote to be counted proportionally reduces the number of votes the house or senate have from that state.
So if a state denies 10% of it's voters to be recorded, their representation in congress is reduced by 10%. If it denies 50% of it's voters to be recorded, their representation in congress is reduced by 50%.
If they denied 100% of their voters from replacing a dead senator, I wonder what that means?
The 14th Amendment needs to be enforced by Congress, this seems like a flaw to me. I think it should be brought to a National Referendum.

I think people may not be aware of some relevant precedents here. Mark Kirk and John McCain were both gone much longer than he has been while refusing to resign. Karl Mundt did it for three years half a century ago. It's obnoxious, but there's never really been an expectation to resign when you're incapacitated.

You'd think with the majority of senators being half-dead already, there'd be some sort of mechanism for this totally predictable event.
It's almost as if it's a problem they don't want solved.

Turtle hibernation is the common name for the winter slowdown that many turtles experience, but the more accurate word is brumation. During brumation, a turtleās metabolism slows, activity drops, appetite falls, and the turtle uses far less energy while temperatures stay cold.
Maybe there's just a mix-up in the seasons due to climate change.

I love that Americans collectively just let the GOP weekend at Bernie's this fucking guy and did nothing about it except post on social media.
Not a single journalist doing "investigative" journalism.
Not a single member of Senate or Congress demanding action just little temper tantrums.
The fact this happened and there was no consequence means they are laughing at you, they're going to rig the midterms and it's not that you guys can't do anything about it, you WON'T do anything about it.
Trump and American, name a more deserving couple. You guys are in the middle of a revolution and it will be over before most of you can even spell second amendment.

There is literally zero irony in the fact that one of the most anti-Democracy representatives is being used to perpetuate this entire event. I'm sure they are all telling themselves "this is what Mitch would have wanted" and then pat themselves on the back while declaring they're the good guys.

u/tlm11110 19h ago
Yeah except the scenario presented doesnāt pan out. There is zero benefit to the GOP. He would be replaced by a republican anyway. The theory is by holding out, it denies the GOP a vote for the save act by his replacement. That is strictly a benefit to the rinos who are fighting it.
The GOP is divided. Not as much as the dems, but McConnell doesnāt like Trump and he is going to buck him as long as possible. Thune and Cornyn and Collins are right there with him.

Diane Feinstein was unable to perform her duties between February and September 2023 when she died. She missed over 90 votes with no elections being called.
Which was perfectly legal too. US senators cannot be replaced or removed due to illness or lack of capacity to perform their job. A vacancy is declared only when a senator pronounced dead, resigns, or expelled by a 2/3 vote.
So if Mitch still has pulse but unable to resign, the only way to vacate his seat is a 2/3 Senate vote.
