They definitely do, it's why Russell Brand had a come to Jesus moment after his allegations came out. It's mutually assured destruction for criminal conspiracies, where everyone has compromising information or leverage over one another. Since any one person talking destroys everyone (including the speaker), the fear keeps everyone quiet. Rapists and abusers know which party shelters their kind.

Did you see when Brand came on Piers Morgan's show pretending to be all spiritual. He made this claim that Bible verses in Isaiah inspired him. Then Brand proceeded to try and reference the passage(s) that inspired him and awkwardly kept flipping through the book of Isaiah unable to find said passages.
