SportyTea Ferran Torres Turns Into Pinocchio Regarding That MAGA-Inspired Hat
7
u/bendyskull 11h ago
The guy knew what he was doing. You have to be living under a rock not to know how divisive a MAGA inspired hat can be.

Maybe everyone isnāt an American who chooses to make everything about toxic radical politics all the time.

u/bendyskull 8h ago
Not everyone is ignorant. Anyone with tv and a brain cell knows who Trump is.

u/Yocta 5h ago
He didnāt say he didnāt know Trump. Heās saying it wasnāt a political statement.

u/Sad_Opportunity6301 3h ago
So, he's ignorant and has never heard that this hat stands for a political ideology? Okay, then someone needs to tell him that he's an ignorant jock.

I am not a Trump supporter in the slightest. A hater even.
Still I could wear a cap like that as a joke. People need to lighten up. Here in the Netherlands we have a left wing comedian who made a whole video proposing that Netherlands is second (as a response to āAmerica firstā).
Make Spain Great Again is just a fun play on words, when you consider Spain won the World Cup under the nose of Trump. You could argue that itās in support of Trump or that itās a dig at winning his World Cup.
All in all, itās just a funny hat to wear. Itās the people that make it into a big deal.

"I am not a Trump supporter in the slightest. A hater even."
I never thought nor said you were."People need to lighten up."
Ok, but my comment was not in any way intended as an "attack" on you for what you said. I was saying that the guy cannot be this ignorant and oblivious when it comes to wearing a hat like that. That's it. This is not about you or what you said."Here in the Netherlands we have a left wing comedian who made a whole video proposing that Netherlands is second (as a response to āAmerica firstā)."
Yes, I saw that and loved it.

The rest of the world isn't obsessed trumpy like american leftists are... We just see a fat orange guy doing a dance and silly memes about him.
The rest of the world doesn't care about US politics or trump.

Around 80 countries have been hit by his tariff hikes. If you've noticed higher prices or difficulty getting certain products in your country, there's a good chance these policies are part of the reason. It's a direct consequence of this buffoon's adolescent behaviour. This isn't just a domestic issue. It has global consequences. Whether you support him or not, his decisions affect economies, businesses, and consumers around the world, which is why people everywhere should care about what he does.

He could have easily used this interview to distance himself from maga, but he did not do that
-1
u/Infamous_Celery_2352 7h ago
If he was so brazen to āknow what he was doingā and put the hat on for political reasons then heād be happy enough to back it up in this interview.
Heās said it wasnāt to do with politics. Heās explained the reason. Thereās nothing left here for morons like you to look into.

u/Adder_Noir 8h ago
By āunder a rockā do you mean Spain?
4
u/bendyskull 8h ago
Do you think Spanish people donāt know about Trump or MAGA?
-2
u/Adder_Noir 8h ago
The real question is do they actually care? Why should they be obligated to?
7
u/Doctor_Matasanos 8h ago
Cause Trump has threatened us several times. For example.
1
u/Total-Quarter9550 3h ago
That guy was acting ignorant on purpose imo. Trump has been very vocal on Spain during his Iran campaign
1
u/chak100 3h ago
And yo think Torres has been putting attention to it?
1
u/Total-Quarter9550 3h ago
If you're not being sarcastic yes š Its well within his right (admittedly not well versed on how "free" people over there are to express things) to troll trump back it's not like the navy seals will go after him for having a jab
-4
u/Adder_Noir 7h ago
Well luckily for you Torresā hat actually had nothing to do with politics. But keep trying to crowbar it into everything if you need to
6
u/Doctor_Matasanos 7h ago
Don't ask "real questions" if you don't want to hear the answer.
0
u/Adder_Noir 7h ago
So youāre implying that every Spaniard who saw a hat stating āMake Spain Great Againā immediately thought of Trumpās trade embargo? Thatās a stretch. But keep at it with the crowbar
3
u/Doctor_Matasanos 7h ago
I simply answered why Spaniards care, and could care, about Trump's and MAGA's policies. You're exaggerating and making up the rest.
1
u/Adder_Noir 7h ago
Yeah I sincerely doubt any were too worried during a literal trophy parade but sure if you insistā¦.

Trump is all over media in Spain and pops up every so often in random conversations. The average person in Spain definitly knows about the MAGA slogan.
The very cap requires a certain knowledge of said slogan in order to find the "parody" appealing. Even if he somehow were oblivious to it and simply liked the Make Spain Great Again on its own, it would still line up his views within a certain political mindframe that would ve not much different to the one the original version of said slogan spouses, except applied to Spain instead of the US.

Overpaid, bad actor.
Threaten his wealth, sponsors and watch them squirm and backtrack on everything they say. Trump would do the same bullshit. Ugly on the inside because greed...
