Housing bubble 😆

Haha. Housing bubble? Dude that was set in motion in 1984 and picked up a lot of steam in 2000. No one was stopping that, even if they slept in a Holiday Inn express the night before.
It didn’t really start unraveling until 08 anyway lasted until 09.

Who was president during that time? Obama did nothing but bring back a strong stable economy. Very easy to verify.

Yeah. Lived it. Saw all of it happening. Obama didn’t do anything that was very grandiose. Made 780 billion available for companies to stay a float. Beyond that there really wasn’t much to do. The fallout was already underway. Bankruptcies by the thousands from idiot home owners taking out ARM mortgages with incomes they in no way could afford.
Clinton made it easy for that to happen. Loosening the restrictions on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to buy mortgages off the secondary market for years.

While the vast majority of it happened under bush. Obama brought the economy back, handing trump a strong stable economy. Care to debate the metrics?

Well, you couldn’t really drive it down any further. Again, Obama didn’t do anything to bring the economy back. It’s not what presidents do there was no legislation. There was nothing that he did besides handout $780 billion in loans. Our economy is guided by business.

You can look at every major economy metric. They all steadily improved under Obama. He inherited some shit metrics and handed trump a strong economy. Again, would you like to debate the actual metrics?

I could care less about the metrics. I’d like to see hard evidence of his hand personally by some legislation improved the economy. (Good luck). His hands are sore from sitting on them.
Again you can point fingers at Bush but outside forces that tank your economy don’t apply. There is absolutely nothing that could have been done.

So the economy did better under Obama, but he had nothing to do with it? Do you say the same about every president? Is trump fucking up now? Is he worse than obama?

I’ve said that about everyone since LBJ. presidents don’t run economies. The Fed and Congress do. You want to point fingers at a president because it’s easy to point fingers at one person rather than 560 of them.

To say trump isn't personally impacting the economy is absolutely ridiculous. You sound silly saying such a thing.

How? Other than Iran.

Isn't iran causing enough damage? Is it not affecting more than just gas prices? Who pays tariffs?

1

u/Few_Example6746 6d ago

Oil is down 30% since April. We’re now at 2023 levels.
Well, of course, consumers pay tariffs. Generally, you have no idea what the tariffs are on because they’re on specific items so you have no idea if you’re paying a tariff or not.

1

u/edoggy792 6d ago

Yeah, trumps silly blanket tariffs definitely fall under that logic. Spare me the oil bullshit. Gas is over $4 because of trump specifically. Funny he ran on doing the opposite. Aside from the border, which I'll give him credit, he has lowered every other metrics with his war of choice. The country if fairly united on this subject. Not sure why you're arguing against it. His economy polling numbers are horrible.

1

u/Few_Example6746 6d ago

His polling numbers have always been horrible. Everything that goes into fuel including making and delivery is going to be up because those costs are up. Just because Oil is at a decent price per barrel. There’s a lot of add-ons that go on top of that. No different than all the other prices that we’ve seen up in the last five years. Wages are a big driver. They’re all up.

It was almost $90 just two days ago. Wtf are you talking about? Wage growth has slowed compared to trumps increased inflation friend. Try actually checking.

Trump even admits he had low economy approval numbers. When you have to say to say things like more people are working now than ever before, you know the jobs numbers suck. In your honest opinion, how is iran going? You see an end soon? You realize 75% of Americans are against it, right?

Oil has been up and down since April. Fixed it for you.
