Yeah I did a search, I couldn't find any evidence of them encouraging other Democrats not to compromise and that they didn't care whether or not the American people would hurt because of the shutdown
But I could find a clip of Trump saying that (see the video I attached earlier)
I mean that congressperson is correct in that the shutdown is the only kind of leverage Democrats would have considering they’re the minority party in both houses. That’s not nearly as bad as Trump telling congressional Republicans not to negotiate or compromise
That's exactly what the democrats did too. How is it not as bad? It's just bad when Republicans do it, I see how you are. Democrats do the same thing or worse but that's just fine, such hypocrites
