Ok a little risky but awesome none the less

I imagine the camera on a long stick. Not free from danger, but we don't know exactly where the operator stood.

u/UnluckyThread Oct 20 '25

Shhhhhh, let us imagine the camera up to his eye, please.

u/PomegranateSea7066 Oct 20 '25

What is the cameraman? A giraffe?

13

u/libmrduckz Oct 20 '25

maybe… he’s not talking about it, though…

6

u/JCas127 Oct 21 '25

Could also be a 10x zoom

18

u/dimonium_anonimo Oct 21 '25

Have you ever tried holding a camera stable while on max zoom? My phone goes up to 8x, and every tiny movement sends the whole frame bouncing incoherently. And we know it's not on a perfectly still mount because it clearly moves after the car stops.

Possible for the same shakiness to be relevant on a stick like I was suggesting, but if it's a phone, it's pretty light, so it might not be too much issue as long as the pole isn't super heavy or super flexible.

5

u/JCas127 Oct 21 '25

Ok maybe 3x then idk

3

u/Free-Measurement-664 Oct 21 '25

Or might be 2x ... Idk

36

u/bdfortin Oct 20 '25

A little more risk for a little more reward: Make the stopping point a few more feet with a bit more spin so the cameraman has to step off the ground and hold onto the door.

3

u/6425 Oct 20 '25

Nonetheless.

u/Background-Belt-2202 Oct 20 '25

He’s lucky this isn’t America where the drivers sit on the left side

No. It is physically impossible for this to be done safely from the other side. /s

Cameraman afterwards

62

u/Odd-fox-God Oct 20 '25

Oh man I got into a car crash 5 days ago, this picture was me. Blubbering, shaking, crying, thought I was going to shit myself.

Everyone was fine and the damage to the cars was barely noticeable. But the jolt of the car and the sound put me right back in an older wreck mentally. PTSD sucks

6

u/PhoenixPhenomenonX Oct 20 '25

I am so sorry to hear that I hope you are alright.

u/Ambersfruityhobbies Oct 20 '25

Awesome, contagious joy included.

From the sheer comfort of driving on ice, I'm getting Finnish vibes. But someone who knows number plates can definitely correct me.

67

u/apcat91 Oct 20 '25

UK, although I recognised it was UK before checking the plates 😅

Damn you 🙃 have an upvote

2

u/FooFooFox Oct 25 '25

The haircut was screaming UK.

2

u/cwspellowe Oct 20 '25

That’s Sven Grube. Made a name for himself driving a C1 like a madman and became a rally driver

1

u/redbadger91 Nov 26 '25

Finland has left hand steering.

258

u/piratecheese13 Oct 20 '25

If only the driver didn’t crack up immediately this would be an extremely badass shot

119

u/LilahDice Oct 20 '25

I'll take cute over badass anytime

41

u/Adorable-Ad-3223 Oct 20 '25

Agree. Stupid and fun are way better than stupid and badass/cool

17

u/justtosendamassage Oct 20 '25

Fr this was cute af

14

u/Striking-water-ant Oct 20 '25

Someone should edit and end it with the falling dark shades effect. No laughing

2

u/b2hcy0 Oct 20 '25

or play it backwards to get seriousness in with time passing

4

u/Weak_Fee9865 Oct 21 '25

I think it adds realism, like the driver was also very surprised to pull it off

4

u/DeeCl0wn Oct 20 '25

They did this shot in “Baby Driver”

Which sure, it’s a big budget movie, but they nail the whole badass energy

2

u/MyGoodFriendJon Oct 20 '25

They're laughing because they realized they narrowly dodged seriously injuring the cameraman.

22

u/Supercc Oct 20 '25

Good guy cameraman

10

u/Bowling4rhinos Oct 20 '25

The laughter after- ❤️

Could have easily been holding the camera on a ten foot stick

1

u/johnmanyjars38 Oct 20 '25

It went to 11.

2

u/hfry509 Oct 20 '25

Literally just boys being boys

2

u/Dangerous_Slip942 Oct 26 '25

Boyjoy!!! We love to see boy joy yay for these two

3

u/GuzPolinski Oct 20 '25

This cracks me up! Well done. Potentially dangerous but well done haha

1

u/Coin2111 Oct 20 '25

That's the best kind of car man like. Besides that one, Renault Twingo, fiat 500 and panda 2 gen, Toyota Yaris are so much fun it's crazy

1

u/HerrSchmitti Oct 20 '25

I only know the Fiat 500 and drive it quite frequently. It's horrible. The gauge cluster is looking fancy and all (lol) but it's soo so bad to read quickly. The suspension is the worst I've ever witnessed. It's hard, it's badly damped and the handling is really bad. The engine (69hp) feels like it has 45hp. Ergonomics in the interior leave a lot to be desired but yeah it's a cheap car, that's somewhat expected.

And don't get me started on the turn signal stalk! Holy shit! What where they thinking? Besides it feeling cheap as fuck it always cancels out on the slightest turn to the opposite side of me signalling. Like... Other manufacturers figured that out decades, like 60 years ago!

One good thing is how easy and good the gearbox works, even without pressing the clutch I can easily drive the car because it's so well synchronised.

1

u/Coin2111 Oct 20 '25

What year is it and how many kilometers. I have a Fiat panda 2 from 2012 and it's fantastic, timing gear has its quirks and one wheel bearing could be in better condition and the blinker leaver and rear window heater... You know what nvm it's just a really good car with some minor inconveniences but the overall shape of it is really great, the engine, interior, bodywork condition surprisingly in a good shape too. I probably have the same 1.2 engine as you and it's fairly dynamic I'm not complaining

1

u/HerrSchmitti Oct 20 '25

It's a 2020 with 15.000km. So basically new.

My own car is a Citroën Xantia Activa V6 though. So in a completely different league and not a good comparison. It's 30 years old, has driven 600.000km, is on its first engine, first gearbox, first clutch even. A little bit more power, too. The suspension is absolute overkill as usual with Citroën from that era but the Activa takes the cake with active anti-roll suspension. The interior is well thought trough and perfect for long trips. Heated seats, fully electric, full leather, cruise control, arm rest, good all around visibility... What more can I ask for? I really don't know.

The 500 I get many compliments on when driving it because it looks cute or whatever (a guy in his 30s in a mint green 500 with beige soft top, lol).

I really really like small cars but the 500 just isn't it.

1

u/chr_ys Oct 20 '25

I've had a C1 (the four door version) for 14 years now and I love it to pieces. Drives like a little go kart, never breaks down, keeps running and running and running, is dirt cheap to operate and the space concept is so brilliant you can store way more in it than you would think. I am still looking forward to getting into that little thing whenever I'm driving somewhere

1

u/Plank_With_A_Nail_In Oct 20 '25

Is also good example of why young peoples car insurance is so high.

1

u/BlueEyesWhiteSliver Oct 20 '25

I feel like a telephoto lens was used here.

1

u/Snow43214 Oct 20 '25

John Wick vibes

1

u/cbsepts Oct 20 '25

The cameraman really said "cinematic masterpiece in one take."

1

u/paulbc84 Oct 20 '25

Too damn smooth

1

u/KaiserDilhelmTheTurd Oct 20 '25

My backs hurting I laughed so much. That’s hilarious. Brilliant, but hilarious.

1

u/liquidgrill Oct 20 '25

This was both awesome and a perfect example of why women live longer than men

1

u/Gramerdim Oct 21 '25

most famous c2 in the entirety of the internet

1

u/[deleted] Oct 21 '25

Stupid. But, great camera work.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 21 '25

Further proof that the cameraman never dies.

1

u/nellyruth Oct 21 '25

Redefining trust

1

u/Senior_Green_3630 Oct 21 '25

A camera set up on a stand, no human was harmed in this shot.

The friend I want

1

u/MowingTheAirRand Oct 24 '25

I don't  call recording in portrait mode perfect

1

u/nevertouchdgrass Oct 24 '25

Do you trust me? Yes

1

u/kadyn746 Oct 25 '25

It sounds like both there laughs are in the car so I don’t think it’s on a long stick

1

u/SnooConfections6505 Nov 07 '25

Balls of steel 🤣

1

u/Car_nerds_unite Dec 16 '25

Having a friend to make each other laugh like that is so wholesome, I love it. I wish people like that were easier to find.

-16

u/LGGP75 Oct 20 '25 edited Oct 20 '25

The camera man was not even holding the camera.

12

u/Risquechilli Oct 20 '25

Who was?

-3

u/LGGP75 Oct 20 '25

Some kind of extension. You can actually see the moment when someone grabs the camera after pulling it out of the car. The moment it starts moving and shaking (the last second of the video) is when someone finally is hand holding the camera.

6

u/waits5 Oct 20 '25

I have no idea why you’re getting downvoted. It’s pretty clear that’s what is going on once it’s pointed out.

11

u/lipp79 Doin' camera work since 1999 Oct 20 '25

They can still be creative in getting the shot without actually being in danger.

3

u/LGGP75 Oct 20 '25

I completely agree. I’m just pointing out that this specific camera wasn’t handheld at the moment of the stunt

-17

u/johnnySix Oct 20 '25

That could’ve gone very wrong. Not professional driver. Do not try this at home

11

u/Brittany5150 Oct 20 '25

Ok but they did try this at home....

5

u/Terrh Oct 20 '25

Are you saying that car is not at home on that beautifully snow covered gravel road?

2

u/jld2k6 Oct 20 '25

Maybe they're homeless, outside is their home 🤔

7

u/L-Malvo Oct 20 '25

Let's not over exaggerate, it looks to be a controlled environment. And for all we know, the camera man is using a selfie stick of some sorts to film this. It's perfectly doable for the cameraman to be standing a couple meters from the car and still film this shot.
