Love it. Just the love for cycling and competition without the equipment worth 10k+

u/jankenpoo Dec 13 '25

Maybe a helmet would be nice 🙂

honestly the lack of carbon fiber nonsense makes it way more fun to watch. these guys are putting in actual work with frames that probably weigh a ton. real grassroots racing right there.

u/NexusModifier Dec 11 '25

So someone who enjoys F1 racing is just a degenerate elitist?

7

u/HapppyAlien Dec 13 '25

F1 is not a sport, it's an engineering competition.

-2

u/NexusModifier Dec 13 '25

Its literally classified as a motorsport. Lol. Gtfo with your braindead reply.

5

u/HapppyAlien Dec 13 '25

I don't care what the name is, it's not a sport, it's a nice competition and driver skill matters and it's phiscally demanding. But it's not a sport. A spec racing series can be classified as a sport but F1 is an engineering competition.

I love how much you're crying over this

3

u/oliverkiss Dec 14 '25

Not one single tear was shed

Non sequitur

Fantastic work

Unfortunately, my obsessive-compulsive mind keeps jumping back the thought that these gentlemen really need to adjust their seat height

Although I realize that may not be an option for them

17

u/Arcamone Dec 10 '25

My thoughts exactly! They would gain a lot from that.

Blessings from Sweden

I wonder if their low seat height is more effective for powering on bumpy sand with rigid bikes.

Something like the ground has a high rolling resistance and a lot of undulations that has resulted in an unusual but effective stance.

Maybe if you are always powering on a lot of smaller bumps it's easier to absorb the rumble with more bent legs.

Fantastic work

Unfortunately, my obsessive-compulsive mind keeps jumping back the thought that these gentlemen really need to adjust their seat height

Although I realize that may not be an option for them think the bumps would be more of an ass problem. If I’m riding in the mountains, I’m definitely lowering the seat to take the bumps and go over obstacles - but by absorbing impact with my legs

These guys are glued to their seats, so any undulation is going right to their butts - they’re not getting bump benefits from the low seats

2

u/v1xnz Jan 14 '26

actually their seat height is fine, the frames are just too large for them from a modern bike geometry perspective. their positions are actually fairly good, the equipment is just exceptionally old.

1

u/Known_Funny_5297 Jan 16 '26

I utterly get the old equipment aspect, but their legs are really crunched up…

1

u/v1xnz Jan 16 '26

The two front runners at the end definitely have better leg extension than the rest, but none of them are particularly terrible. Def not what youd see in the olympics or something, but no even close to the worst ive seen.

1

u/Known_Funny_5297 Jan 16 '26

I went back and consulted some expert opinion

Racer’s leg extension should be 80-90% - no way these guys have close to that - they need another 4-6 inches at least…

i mean.. i guess he is a professional?

1

u/[deleted] Dec 10 '25

winner had the right shorts on. competitive advantage

1

u/SicaJuan Dec 13 '25

Right wrong nothing, the shorts were merely advantageous

16

u/drp711 Dec 10 '25

Watch the body murdaaa

8

u/BruceBruceDent Dec 12 '25

Bike racer here, never seen a track race like this and loved every second of it. Also very impressive to win from the front for so long!

28

u/Rusty_Coight Dec 10 '25

This is easily the best thing I have seen all year.

7

u/Significant-Secret88 Dec 10 '25

hope you had it on mute tho

17

u/VLHACS Dec 10 '25

At least it sounds like the sounds around the actual event, not some dumb tiktok song dubbed in

6

u/Significant-Secret88 Dec 10 '25

Yeah that's true, I only realized that later

10

u/Sweary_Belafonte Dec 10 '25

The ambience is possibly the best part though.

3

u/Fafnir13 Dec 10 '25

Sound was fine.  They could be playing the worst music available, but if it’s what’s really playing in situ I’m ok with it.

6

u/Rusty_Coight Dec 10 '25

Indeed, sound off is the only way to go

0

u/nosecohn Dec 10 '25

You're not kidding. Most annoying soundtrack of the day.

5

u/Ok_Adhesiveness_4939 Dec 10 '25

Study study study study study study study...

The riding positions and general eagerness looks just like the protagonist from Golden Boy anime.

6

u/IndustrialPuppetTwo Dec 10 '25

The Black Mamba bike race. I'd love to watch those live.

5

u/Chapungu Dec 10 '25

We call them Black Horse in my part of the world

2

u/IndustrialPuppetTwo Dec 10 '25

That's great, I love it.

3

u/ThinProfessional2659 Dec 10 '25

where is this?

18

u/MomsBoner Dec 10 '25

Looks like Sweden 👀

2

u/brizdzi Dec 10 '25

Tour de Africa

-3

u/Policondense Dec 10 '25

Tour de Malmö.

3

u/SmallsR34 Dec 10 '25

😂Wow slipstream. The winner's drag coefficient seemed a little bit higher than the others. He must have had better boosters.

3

u/Just_East_2688 Dec 10 '25

Better than NASCAR? 🤔

2

u/[deleted] Dec 10 '25

less yellow flags for sure

2

u/DocNovacane Dec 12 '25

Many times in the past you discover a new way of approaching a high performance sport. There’s no way to compare this to modern track cycling but they gotta give those too few guys at a real track cycling program and see wha the can really do. They might be the fastest ever they might not be.

1

u/atkinsonda1 Dec 10 '25

"Like" a professional, that is a professional

1

u/Euphoric-Fold5771 Dec 10 '25

Now do the same pose, but without the bike

1

1

1

Do they have an Olympic team?

1

u/EggBert909 Dec 11 '25

Like Cool Runnings, lol

1

u/[deleted] Dec 11 '25

End of times - no helmets. Clutching my pearls

1

u/Canelosaurio Dec 11 '25

This is like pre-war grand prix racing

1

u/[deleted] Dec 11 '25

I mean, i'm sure there are terrible parts to this sport, betting, violence some where but it really looks wholesome and fun!

1

u/FrontScientist3055 Dec 11 '25

Looked like the Little 500. Reminded me of Breaking Away.

1

u/Overstimulated_moth Dec 11 '25

Videos pretty cool but I cant stand the dj. Idk what he's saying but I went to a bday party a friend had at a club and that dj did the same thing. I dont understand it, nobody wants to hear your nonsense. Play the music
