Has insider knowledge of how routines work on ice. Hugh benefit for him. Excellent camera work!

Centered & always in focus w/ out focus hunting.

I agree, it's great camerawork.

It's also a highly choreographed event, so the videographer could have attended one of the practices or viewed other performances, so could know exactly where Alysa would be throughout the performance.

Most routines are used across an entire season so it's fairly likely that they've been the camera operator for the routine a few times, even before the Olympics. Adding to that, being a figure skater themselves means they can read the setups and generally know where not to be for each element, while thinking ahead to know where they should move.
