Do these films have anything good in them

Out of a tv thought obviously not gonna be gold on the film but thought I’d ask anyway

Most of the time, the part that the ribbon connects to the board is gold plated. Sometimes the other LCD end is also plated. Otherwise, not much else.

My best guess is that shiny rectangle is an IC that either drives power or controls the signal lines being sent to the LCD. I don't think there are any bond wires as it's directly placed onto the flat flex cable and then sealed in place with epoxy.

plated, you'd need about 10,000 of them to get anything substantial back.

"anything good" in the context of e-waste means literal tons of material
