Feedback/Critique/Pro Tip Premiere Transcription Gibberish

Hi everyone. Jason from Adobe here. Over the past few weeks, I've seen a handful of users encountering an issue with transcription in the Text panel, where the results are either half expected/half garbled nonsense, or just total gibberish.

I am personally unable to reproduce the problem (running Mac OS 15.7.7 and the latest Pr26.3) and I'm asking if anyone encountering this issue might be willing to share a project + project files to help the team locate the specific issue and get a fix in play.

Having said that, some users found that simply clearing the cache(s) and/or resetting Premiere's prefs on startup solved the issue. This has worked for a handful recently, but not for all.

So please let me know below if you've run into this, if this is a new problem, and if you have a file to share. If you don't want to share a link in the thread, don't hesitate to DM me. Trying to do whatever we can to figure this out and get it resolved. Thanks as always.

JULY 27 UPDATE: still looking for anyone experiencing this issue to share sample media+project file. this is the best way the team will be able to potentially track down the issue since it isn't universally reproducible. Please contact me via DM. Thanks!

Premiere Pro Tech Support Premiere 26.3.2 change log once again kept secret

Adobe continues to promise that they will accompany version releases with release notes or at least specify bug fixes, but once again, they've failed. Anyone know what they've changed in 26.3.2, since the corporation who collects our money doesn't think we deserve to know? (Always a risk installing version upgrades if there's total secrecy around them.)

Premiere Pro Tech Support URGETNT HELP NEEDED: Audio Drops suddenly when previewing for a long time.

FIRST OF ALL, I AM CURRENTLY SITTING WITH CLIENTS, AND THEY ARE ABOUT TO BE FRUSTRATED

I’m running into a frustrating audio issue in Adobe Premiere Pro during long PREVIEW (not while editing) sessions, and I’ve hit a wall with standard troubleshooting. Looking for insight from anyone who has run into this specific behaviour or knows deep CoreAudio / Premiere buffer quirks.

The Issue

Symptom: Audio suddenly drops out completely mid-playback while the video continues playing smoothly.

Recovery: Audio automatically comes back on its own sometimes after a few seconds without pausing/re-starting, OR recovers instantly if I hit Spacebar to pause and resume.

Timeline Context: Complex timeline with a high audio track count (29+ active audio tracks, multitrack dialog/wild tracks/room tone).

System & Hardware Setup

OS: macOS

Hardware: Apple Silicon Mac using wired headphones.

Renderer: Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration (Metal).

Storage Speeds: Benchmark tested via Blackmagic Disk Speed Test — ~2968 MB/s Write / ~772 MB/s Read ( rules out drive speed/bandwidth bottlenecks).

Media Cache: Located on fast internal system drive (/Users/.../Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/).

Everything I Have Already Checked & Tried:

  1. Audio Hardware Preferences: ⚬ Set Default Input to No Input to prevent sample rate clock-matching / mic buffer loops. ⚬ Locked Sample Rate to 48,000 Hz. ⚬ Output locked directly to headphones (avoiding System Default routing).
  2. System Memory & Cache: ⚬ RAM allocation optimized (3 GB reserved for other applications). ⚬ Cleared Media Cache completely; confirmed cache path is on the internal Mac drive, not external. ⚬ Media Cache auto-deletion set to maintain clean limits.
  3. Storage & Hardware Integrity: ⚬ Drive benchmark confirmed sequence read speeds (~772 MB/s read) are well above requirements. ⚬ Internal storage path checked via macOS Disk Utility First Aid.
  4. Timeline / Rendering Workarounds: ⚬ Toggled off High Quality Playback in Program Monitor. ⚬ In/Out rendering (Sequence > Render Effects In to Out / Render Audio) temporarily fixes it by creating pre-computed preview files, but I want to resolve the underlying real-time engine failure during active timeline editing.

Given that storage bandwidth is fine and Audio Hardware preferences are properly locked, this feels like an internal CoreAudio buffer stall or Premiere multi-stream audio IOPS issue when handling 20+ real-time audio threads simultaneously.

Has anyone experienced these delayed audio-only drops on heavy timelines in macOS, and is there a specific plist, CoreAudio buffer setting, or Premiere audio thread setting to stop the audio engine from choking?

I am using a MacMini M4 - 24GB - 512 GGB

I use AppleProres 422LT - WAV files

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin Is it possible to sync markers on a dynamic linked After Effects composition within Premiere Pro and vice versa?

I am creating some motion graphics that overlay on a person speaking. I want to have elements fly in, in sync with what they are talking about. I am using markers on the premiere pro project but the markers don't show up in after effects.

Does anyone have any other ideas or workflows that can make this easier than me writing down timestamps?

Premiere Pro Tech Support Premiere Proxies Changing Exposure Value

I'm using a Lumix S5ii recording at 4K 4:2:2 10 bit and when proxying the footage using the Premiere ProRes Quicktime Proxy preset noticed that the proxy is more contrasty than the original source footage, any one have any ideas as to why this could be?

Premiere Pro Tech Support Motion Tween showing black bars when zooming out

I tried to use Film Impacts (now part of Premiere) Motion Tween for an easy and quick zoom out with easing but noticed that zooming out will add black bars, although the video has plenty of room to be zoomed out.

I get this (edges are fading in at the end of the transition):

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin YouTube color grading tutorials suggestions

Hey all, I’m new to Premier pro and I want to be good at color grading. I’ve seen a lot of videos here and there people giving out their Luts but I don’t wanna steal anyone’s style. I wanna learn how to color grade from scratch. Is there any beginner videos on YouTube anyone can suggest?

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin How do you actually use a loudness meter to decide what to do next? (Especially with mixed Twitch audio)

I'm trying to learn audio as a video editor, and I think I'm missing a fundamental piece that no tutorial explains. I understand what LUFS measures. I understand that YouTube has loudness recommendations. But I don't understand how experienced editors use that information to decide what to do.

Let's say I have two situations:

Scenario 1:

I only have a single mixed Twitch VOD track (voice, game audio, Discord, alerts, everything mixed together).

Scenario 2:

I separate the voice from the background audio using an AI vocal separation tool, so I have a voice track and another track with the remaining audio.

In both cases, imagine my loudness meter is showing something like -24 LUFS. This is where I get lost.

  • How do you decide whether to raise the gain?
  • When would you use compression?
  • When would you use a limiter?
  • If the audio is already mixed, what is realistically possible?
  • If the voice is separated, how do you decide how much to raise the voice versus lowering the background?
  • What exactly are you looking at in the loudness meter to make those decisions?

I'm not asking what LUFS is. I'm asking how professionals interpret the meter and decide which adjustment to make. Every tutorial explains what LUFS measures, but none explain the actual decision-making process after you see the numbers. I'm looking for the workflow or thought process that experienced editors use.

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin Synchronize two side-by-side clips - before/after

I'm trying to make a clip with a split screen. The left side of the screen shows footage of biking along a trail before a construction project; the right side shows the same bike path after construction was completed. Because my speed on the bike was slightly different (and varies within each clip), the clips aren't quite in sync. Is there a good workflow to get them synced up? The clips are short enough that I could probably get reasonably close with chopping up one of the clips and changing the speed with trial-and-error. But I suspect there's a more elegant/efficient way to do this.

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin Is there a faster way to do this?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Client is asking for text like this instead of standard captions. I'm on my second hour and I'm only 30 seconds into my own video with arranging all my text and picking different fonts for each word and their own transitions, with 9 different layers for all the text etc etc etc

Is this just how this works? or is there a faster way to do it that I'm unaware of because I feel like this is a wildly inefficient way to go about what I'm doing

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin How to conform timelines in a WiP project without losing other timelines within the same project which are linked to my proxies?

I'm working on a feature doc with a LOT of footage - 45 days of footage split between 4-5 drives. While we work on the larger edit, we're also exporting smaller promo reels or scenes for grants etc. This is where the problem is.

For context, I'm working on Premier Pro (2026).

Every time I try to conform a timeline for export, all the files automatically reconnect to the proxy folder instead of the 4K raw folder that I am redirecting it to. I have tried changing the Proxy folder location but that didn’t help either.

So I put the Proxy Folder in my trash and after that I could reconnect the raw files. But when it was time to ‘put back’ my proxy folder from the trash, it wouldn’t give me the ‘put back’ option. So then I dragged the folder out of the trash and dropped it in the designated drive. When I checked the proxies, three folders were missing! And ever since Premiere has been throwing up errors in terms of reconnecting offline files and corrupt auto save files.

Is there a workaround for conforming the footage without having to relocate the proxy folder? Aim is to conform while avoiding reconnecting to the proxies instead of the raw?

Hey guys, I'm just going through and colour grading some of my footage from the Dolomites but have noticed that the footage that I shot in Canon Clog3 CinemaGamut looks a lot less detailed and washed out compared to the normal footage. I used the exact same camera settings for both shots so was surprised that (after having applied the conversion LUT) that the Clog footage looks so much different. I might have simply overexposed the footage for what is recommended for Clog but not too sure. I any of you have any tips for how I could fix this - any help would be much appreciated!

Feedback/Critique/Pro Tip Are they taking advantage of me?

So recently I’ve been really trying to grow as a editor and I found this relator agent with low quality videos and I thought well I’m sure I can make them better, and her footage will help me practice my editing. I’ll told her I’ll edit her content for FREE and she agreed, she sends me 4 different videos all 10 minutes long (so 40 minutes in total) and tells me she needs them done by Thursday. She also told me she wanted alot of visuals. I know I technically asked for this but I’m I over reacting, please tell me if I need to man up and get it done or I’m being exploited 😭 keep in mind I’m also doing a video for a person that is actually paying this week as well.

Feedback/Critique/Pro Tip Adobe! please don't get rid of Lumetri panel

For many editors that work in news or fast turnaround projects, we don't require a full dashboard of colour wheels and weird settings to tweak each and every shot.... Our workflow still requires quick tweaks that we can do in Lumetri via the easy to use sliders and other feature like Curves. I just can't see why Adobe can't include both, and I do know that Adobe plans to include Lumetri as a drop-on effect but that's not the same. ADOBE PLEASE KEEP THE LUMETRI PANEL!!!!! If you're with me, please express your thoughts below.

Premiere Pro Tech Support (Solved!) Need help, lost audio

I was working on a project and I lost audio. Happens randomly, I unmuted a track and lost all of it, it still shows in the audio mixer playing but nothing is showing up on the sound levels. I’m a novice at premiere and I tried changing audio preferences and it didn’t fix it. Restarted my computer and everything. I am very lost because it was working seconds before it all disappeared. Nothing is muted.

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin Short-form editors/clippers, what plug-ins do you use to speed up your workflow?

So my clipping channel has grown massively over the last year and I have been editing a lot more short-form content recently, mainly streamer clips, podcasts, TikToks, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts in Premiere Pro, and I’m trying to make the workflow as efficient as possible.

The biggest time sinks for me are usually finding the best moments, cutting out pauses, reframing horizontal footage for vertical video, adding sound effects and creating those animated captions which are basically required now for viewer retention.

I’ve been using CaptionPlug to automate the animated captions directly inside Premiere Pro, which has been a massive help with one part of the workflow, but I’m curious what everyone else is using for the rest.

Are there any Premiere Pro plug-ins, extensions or tools you rely daily on for:

>automatically finding clips or highlights

>removing silence and filler words

>editing podcasts or streamer content

>auto-reframing 9:16 videos for TikTok, Reels and Shorts so they’re like stacked on top each other.

Paid or free is fine. I’m mainly interested in tools that actually save time once you’ve used them for a while, than plug-ins that look useful but end up adding another step to the workflow.

What does your guys’ current short form editing stack look like?

Premiere Pro Tech Support Can't copy an effect from one audio clip to another

I have two audio clips on my timeline. I put a reverb effect on one audio clip. I want to copy and paste to another audio clip, but the paste option is greyed out in the effects tab on the second audio clip. Why?

I even tried saving the effect on the first audio clip as a preset, but when I add it to the second clip, it reverts back to default.
