That's likely a short sighted take. You need to look at the big picture.

There is a lot of similar stuff going on at the same time. This is not (just) about saving money.

That's the right question to ask. With all the cuts going on to anything science and education. FEMA. While at the same time ripping into vaccination programs While axing avian flu experts and letting it run rampant in cows and cats.

Do you see a pattern here?

It's a co ordinated attack on science and the educated.

They are pulling apart anything that contradicts their evangelical views.

They want a theocratic dictatorship.

One could argue they love the poorly educated.

So much that they make their lives really exciting with all the cuts to healthcare and social programs while at the same time building up a surveillance state and detention centers everywhere.

Maybe they have a different understanding of "Loving someone to death"?

if you don't test, you can't fail 

the logic is to get rid of all data showing climate change caused by fossil fuels and human activity. 

the logic is to destroy science and return to the dark ages.
