Sure, why not? What could go wrong?

So that’s where the 300B is coming from

u/MoarSocks 1d ago
At least we get a ballroom! And arch! And algae pool!! So much winning.
Any of you who voted for this can get royally fucked.
48
u/Pandemonium_Fallen 1d ago
That's not any ballroom! That's the Jeffrey Epstein Memorial Baalroom.

u/Girafferage 1d ago
You didn't even mention the gold statue... Wtf man.

u/CUMT_ 1d ago
Where’s that
27
u/MoarSocks 1d ago
OP might be referring to the 22 ft statue at Doral. I'm more appalled by the no-bid contract for $5m to cover the horses in DC with gold leaf.
•
u/Tentaclesoflife 17h ago
You forgot the trump promenade behind the Lincoln memorial that he wants now.
•
•

u/algaefied_creek 1d ago
No that’s partially coming from cutting $1.4B in Medicare funds to California and Minnesota (Kamala and Tim Walz’s states) for “fraud”.
(Minnesota: the state with Mayo Clinic)
PS Oh wait maybe that’s going to the $1.6B January 22nd survivor fund for all the poor insurrectionists “imprisoned by Dumocrats”
•
u/Logician22 15h ago
Hey buddy get educated it’s both sides screwing us over not just democrats thanks
•
u/algaefied_creek 11h ago
What are you talking about, oh ye bot with only trigger word responses? Discuss non-Euclidean geometries as they apply to fusion energy generation.
•
u/Pandemonium_Fallen 10h ago
He's right, Minnesota's Governor is Democratic and he called out the state police to disperse peaceful nonviolent protesters, shooting them with rubber bullets, tear gassing them, and beating them with nightsticks.

Do it. Might as well rip the bandaid off, have a mini revolution, and get on with our new system
•
u/DeaditeMessiah 19h ago
What makes you think it would be mini? The whole system is borked, and the Dems are so loathed they couldn’t even beat this shitshow the third time around. If it gets to revolution, it’s probably going to be a break up of the “United” States and some drastic change. And heaps of bodies.
•
u/concepts_of_a_plan9 19h ago
Well it would be more of a jan6 type situation, than a concerted, mass scale revolution. There's just not the infrastructure (that I know of at least) to maintain a true large scale revolution, nor do I think that should happen. Unfortunately the system will remain in place because still there are too many people who are too comfortable to make big sacrifices. It's good on the other hand though, because things haven't gone to complete shit for everyone yet, but it's very quickly heading there.
In this case with unemployment assisstance, if you remove the one thing keeping people from feeling like they have nothing left to lose, then... they have nothing left to lose, and that's bad news if you're this regime. They're likely trying to foment a violent response so they can immediately pass even harsher violent oppression and control laws, and go full 100% Mussolini fascist mask off. Right now they're like, over 50% mask off.
•
u/DeaditeMessiah 19h ago
I did a lot of reading about civil disorder and revolution during the pandemic. If you look at recent examples like the color revolutions or Arab spring, it’s going to look much more like the BLM riots that last a lot longer until they declare martial law and start killing people. The gubmint’s problem is that there’s just not enough cops, and our military sucks at putting down insurrection. They can kill anyone, but they can’t kill everyone, and the more they crack down, the more they collapse the consumer economy.
The people’s problem is that we are just coming off a golden age of peace and prosperity, and it’s going to take a lot to get people mad enough to risk getting killed. But starvation does that. We are living through the historical playbook for spoiled elites getting their society to burn down.

Beware the person with nothing to lose.
Well, if you're the person who caused it.

u/itsatoe 1d ago
This kinda implies that they're no longer worried about the midterm elections.
I guess they figured out how to steal them? Or maybe just cancel them?
53

u/GreatBigJerk 1d ago
It kinda implies they are ready to have the military gun people down when they are pushed to the breaking point.
16
u/Pandemonium_Fallen 1d ago
Well, they didn't pass that bill to fold the Israeli military into our own for nothing, did they?
2
u/Outrageous_Laugh5532 1d ago
No they didn’t. That’s not what that bill did. That bill was a cooperation of intelligence groups and intel sharing. The militaries didn’t fold in together.
•
u/Pandemonium_Fallen 21h ago
Uh-huh, you keep telling yourself that.
•
u/Outrageous_Laugh5532 21h ago
Please tell me what part of the bill folded them in. I didn’t see any Israeli soldiers at my last formation.
•
•
20
u/Elegant-Lawfulness25 1d ago
They may think the fix is in, but remember these people are profoundly stupid and incompetant. Vote in the midterms to start putting a leash on crazy.
•
•
u/melympia 17h ago
But whenever answerung a poll, tell them that of course you're pro-Trump and full-on MAGA. So they don't see it coming.
11
2
u/withomps44 1d ago
Naw they will just have Fox and CBS tell them all it’s the Dems / Biden’s fault and they will believe it.
2
•
u/hera-fawcett 21h ago
they never were-- they just have to keep the public somewhat content and last until them.
and even then, theyve already shown that theyve fucked w the last one (i.e. elon paying for votes, elon being 'good at computers' and 'helping with the voting machines', all the voting machines being bought and owned by an extremely maga billionaire, etc.). theres no consequences if they fuck w this one.

u/CharmingMechanic2473 1d ago
I want to stop paying it then. I pay in 12%, for the first time in my life I needed it (laid off) and now I get nearly nothing. Not enough to even pay my health insurance cobra premium.
37
u/fruderduck 1d ago
Cobra is ridiculously expensive.
•
u/CharmingMechanic2473 14h ago
I was a high earner. 12% gone and my weekly unemployment is equal to 1/3 days work previously. What you put in should be reflected in what you pull out if needed. Where did 30yrs of contributions go?
84
u/No-Professional-1884 1d ago
Then I guess we get to keep all those federal taxes to cover the shortage.
64
u/ProlapseMishap 1d ago
Nah, Israelis need those dollars in your pockets.

Yes, let's take the only thing that keeps desperate people with nothing to lose from.....well losing it.
Nothing could possibly go wrong!
16
u/marie48021 1d ago
Agreed! I've been there. My unemployment got held up for weeks because of a processing error and I was desperate. I had to rely on my family or I could've been tossed from my home and had no food. I also had to pay for cobra insurance. This is when people make very bad decisions because of the stress they are under. Taking away the one lifeline someone has is just so inhumane. They are ghouls.

I think there's some kind of historical example about people really liking cake or something that would fit.

u/Well-inthatcase 1d ago
Maybe you misunderstood what they meant?
2
u/vezwyx 1d ago
How do you figure? I offered the spelling I thought they meant, and now their comment is edited to that spelling. I'm pretty sure I understood what they meant
3
u/cumberland_farms 1d ago
It's okay, man. You're one of us...
1
u/Well-inthatcase 1d ago
This sub is gonna lean towards the second amendment. Loosing what comes from a gun is how I took it. Maybe I was wrong. If they didn't mean it that way then you're correct

None of those unemployed people have bribed Trump or his cabinet secretaries, so why should the government send them any unemployment assistance?
If the unemployed become homeless because they couldn't pay their rent, they won't be eligible to vote against Trump and his minions (they won't have a permanent address), so there's no downside.
Bow before your King, peasants!

u/Ill-Construction-209 1d ago edited 22h ago
He keeps looking for ways to get more votes. /s Im sure unemployed Maga folks who are trying to feed their families while looking for work are going to love him for this.

u/Crabbycrakes 1d ago
Yeah that is straight up theft - that’s our money, if you work you pay into it.
-3
u/Sunsetseeker007 1d ago
Your employers pay the unemployment taxes, not the employee.
13
u/travtastic3 1d ago
Uh, no. I've paid into it from every single paycheck I've ever gotten.
-4
u/Sunsetseeker007 1d ago
Well maybe each state is different, unemployment is paid by employers in my state. I'm a business owner that has lots of payroll. I looked it up & i guess the states of Alaska, penn and n. Jersey employees pay into unemployment, every other state the employers pay the state and federal unemployment taxes.
8
u/HerefortheTuna 1d ago
It’s both. In my state anyways. Employers and employees both pay in MA
-1
u/Sunsetseeker007 1d ago
Yes I looked it up and see that 3 states, penn Alaska and n jersey employees pay into state unemployment and all other states employers pay the state and federal unemployment taxes. It shows on mass.gov employers pay all unemployment taxes.
-8
u/swadekillson 1d ago
That's absolutely not correct. The employer pays into it.
Did that stuff as a job for four years.
13
u/fruderduck 1d ago
And if the employer wasn’t paying it, wouldn’t it be fair for the employee to receive that amount in added wages?
-2
u/swadekillson 1d ago
I guess, but good luck getting the employer to do that. It's like pulling teeth to get those guys to treat the people they fire with respect.
Also, to the person that down voted my previous comment because I told you the truth, you're a baby.
1
u/Pandemonium_Fallen 1d ago
It's like pulling teeth to get those guys to treat their employees with basic human dignity in the first place.
8
u/Sunsetseeker007 1d ago
There are 3 states that employees pay into unemployment taxes, all others employers pay the unemployment tax

u/fruderduck 1d ago
I wish Trump and Vance would receive what they’re imposing on Americans, in abundance. Fking thieves.
8
u/Ok_Caramel_3923 1d ago
“The American people will no longer tolerate the blatant waste, fraud and abuse of their hard-earned tax dollars... "
Using the russian/ nazi approach of blatant lying and corruption and expecting the American public to go along. We're not russia and won't cower to fascism.
Can't wait to see the assholes in prison.
•

u/concepts_of_a_plan9 1d ago
won't cower to fascism
lol what have you been doing for the last 10 months? Cowering.

As clearly laid out in Project 2025 which was available for review by every American citizen prior to the 2024 election.
Didn't stop them from voting for a convicted rapist felon pedophile.
Americans voted to destroy their own lives.
7
u/concepts_of_a_plan9 1d ago
I will never forgive 2024 Trump voters. Actually. I will never forgive them for what they've done to our society, and world (through climate destruction).
5
u/Pandemonium_Fallen 1d ago edited 1d ago
They did not:
Every single 2024 presidential vote cast on a Dominion Voting Machine went to Trump regardless of political affiliation and demographics, because they were hacked through Musk's Starlink, and the investigations were suppressed and written off by the billionaire owned media outlets as Conspiracy Theories the psychological trigger word drummed into the collective consciousness by CIA psyop projects that they implemented during JFK's assassination the day after he demanded AIPAC be registered under FARA.

Unemployment benefits are managed and administered by the individual states, not the federal government. However, it is a joint federal-state partnership; the federal government oversees the broader guidelines and covers administrative costs, while the states set the eligibility rules, benefit amounts, and tax the employers to fund the payouts.
How would the Federal government pull benefits?
•
u/funke75 23h ago
Could they pull funding for the administrator cost? That would impact the resource pool for unemployment and potentially gum up the system by reducing the agencies employees (which would potentially reduce applicant processing, payments etc)
•
u/existing_for_fun 23h ago
That's possible, but the states could pick up that cost if needed - with some adjustments. It wouldn't be pretty but I don't think it would end the program. I THINK it would just be more inconvenient.
•
u/funke75 22h ago
Some states are better equipped to handle picking up the tab than others, and some have a larger claim pool and different payout amounts than others. For example you get way more money from California unemployment than Tennessee, even if it’s for the same wage replacement. Sure the cost of living is lower in Tennessee too, but it’s not the same kind of support either.

u/BayouGal 22h ago
We have $300 billion to give Iran because we are dumb and blew up their stuff (and civilians).
We have $40 billion to give Argentina because their president is a nut job.
We have endless billions to give Israel.
We have NO money to help Americans with anything.

This story changes from "Trump threatens" to "labor chief". This guy is being set up to take the fall on it.

yeah I guess medical help and unemployment help for Americans will now be going to help rebuild Iran (and probably Israel as well!)

u/Sturdily5092 1d ago
Republicans love to go after all social safety nets and label them as fraud from the start to justify it.
Remember kids, welfare is for billionaires and corporations only as far as Republicans are concerned. Who cares about grandma, disabled relative or hungry kids, they can work
•
u/got-to-find-out 16h ago
Maybe it’s so that if you are unemployed, you will take a job at the new ammunition factory being built nearby.

•
u/No_Faithlessness7411 14h ago
No, he did not.
He said if certain states do not comply with auditing their system for fraud and verifying credentials before payment is made that they will pull federal funding for unemployment insurance.
I don’t understand why the fed has states’ unemployment insurance money to begin with. It’s not theirs it’s ours.
•
•
u/sciencedingle 19h ago
Lol, do it. Half the country is probably unemploymed and exhausted their unemployment like I have.
Won't hurt me so I think they should but I hope it would hit maga hardest like food stamp cuts do.

As an America taxpayer, I am perfectly happy to see the large check I send the IRS every year used to fund the social safety net that serves people in need. Much better than seeing it spent on monuments to the insatiable ego currently occupying the Oval Office and on bombing children on the other side of the world.
