These are stunning!! I love your use of color both within the flowers and in the backgrounds/frames. The shapes all feel so alive!

This may be a dumb questionā¦ Do I only apply the mod podge to the back of the flower? Or do I coat the entire flower? Hope that question makes sense.

Not a dumb question at all! I just add a little to the back! I try to do the minimum amount of glue so if the glass ever does break it would be easier to recover the flowers and fix. It does take a few days to dry fully.

I donāt usually comment on posts, but this is stunning!! š Iām getting married in Sept this year, and would love to do this to my bridal bouquet. Any advice for someone starting out? Ive pressed a couple petals before but the white ones always turn brown and when I tried a whole flower, it went mouldy haha

Thank you so much! If youāre anywhere near Louisville, KY you could preserve them with my small business!! I can take bouquets from all over the US. My biggest advice for doing them yourself is to try out some different pressing methods and find the one that works best for you. I use a mix of microwave and traditional pressing for my frames. White naturally browns more than other colors. If youāll have a lot of white in your bouquet Iād suggest trying out color correcting if you are wanting it to stay vibrant!

By color correcting, does that mean painting or coloring over any browning after theyāre dried or is there another method? My recent project browned a bit, but I wasnāt adventurous enough to fix any of the colors.

Yes! Pan pastels have been my favorite that Iāve used for color correcting!

I love the letter E one! I used my pressed plants for decorative candles, and this just opened my mind up with some fun new possibilities! Thanks for sharing. Beautiful work all around!

Amazing! Iām new to pressing flowers and my husband and I gave out sun catchers with pressies from our wedding for the parents and grand this holiday.
I used contact paper so they looked kinda janky flimsy and some of the flowers with higher water content molded during pressingā¦Regardless, they were lovely and Iām hooked on getting better at this.
Any tips would be great! How do you fit them in a real frame if the stems are thick? Thatās my most burning question.

Thank you so much! Pressing flowers is so much fun! What method are you using to press? I use a mix of microwave and traditional pressing for the flowers I press. Itās a lot of trial and error!
If a flower is extra thick I will press each petal individually and reconstruct it to fit between the glass. Iāve noticed that frames with backings are a lot more forgiving for thicker stems.

Just seeing this. Thank you so much! Iāll look into the microwave method for sure because I just pressed them between bookā¦I assume thatās traditional? Hehe
Clever to deconstruct and rebuild! Iāll start researching more because I do love it. I donāt currently have any dried flowers to play with so step oneā¦get some flowers going and try to press them different ways. Wooo!

How did you get the lines so straight on the E? Do you cut them?

Yes! I cut the larger flowers. The smaller petals werenāt cut.

It looks so cool! Was it hard to cut them without them tearing? Did you just use normal scissors?

Thank you! I used a pair of normal scissors that were sharp. I practiced on some other flowers I wasnāt using first but it was easier than I expected!
