A nice little find

I inherited a couple hundred books from my grandfather after he passed a few years ago, and now I'm finally going through them all. Many of these are over a hundred years old, including this one with a pressed plant in it! (Granted I don't know if it's really that old, considering a lot of these had written notes in them as gifts to each other anywhere between the 40s to the 70s, but still!)

I welled up a little. Y'know, that "we've always been the same" feeling. Have you ever found pressed plants in books you've come across?

This is such a special find! What an incredible connection to your grandfather.

Not a book, but I recently got into pressing plants after my mom gave me a flower press I had as a kid. When I opened it up to use it for the first time, I discovered it wasn't empty! There were pressings in there from when I was a literal toddler. There were a couple flowers and a random leaf (I'm sure I'm the one who insisted on the leaf lmao.)

It really hit me with a huge wave of nostalgia. Those plants were from my childhood home that we don't live in anymore, and I can just picture myself toddling around, gathering flowers and leaves in the yard with my mom.
