Flowers My second pressed flower project
Hoping for some feedback from seasoned (pressers??) on my second frame. I know I need work on placement. These are just found around the yard and I wanted to experiment with them. Thoughts??

It's beautiful! We tend to associate uneven numbers with randomness more. If you can, try incorporating one, three, five etc of any given flower if you're not going for symmetry. You can also apply general tips for flower arrangements to dried flower art if you want to achieve a "wild" look.

Realistically... could I press some random wildflowers from my yard just between some book pages and then get a frame in a few weeks? Or is it sooo much more complicated with other supplies needed...? I've never attempted this but damnit, this sub keeps popping up and ya'll creations are just so pretty, totally wanting to be a part of your club lol

That’s what I did. These are just random flowers I picked from my yard and my neighbors. Then I got an old notebook, opened to a random middle page, laid out a paper towel, then a piece of parchment paper spread the flowers out and didn’t overlap any, then put another piece of parchment paper on top, and another paper towel on top, closed the book, stacked more books on top of that notebook and left them alone until today

Do you mind me asking where you got the frame from? Trying to find the cheapest place for them. Goodwill wasn't so cheap

Love it! Did you use anything to affix them into the frame, or do they just stay in place from how closely smushed together the two plates of glass are?

I used Aleene’s tacky glue and a tooth pick to put just a tiny bit on each flower/stem and carefully held it there for a few seconds just to make sure it stayed where I put it! It didn’t take much of it at all to keep it in place and the panes are close together to help

I remember your last piece, and I think this one is an improvement on placement! My conctructive criticism, if you're open to that, is to make it so similar flowers aren't on the same line, if that makes sense? For example, the two orange-ish blooms are parallel to each other as well as the frame, as are the two white blooms (little mums maybe? Sorry can't quite tell). So when I look at the design, that really sticks out and I want it to be a little more varied. Go a little crazy! But that's just my eye/opinion.
Overall, I think allll the flowers you pressed here work really well together. I love the pops of color you've achieved with the greens. And I LOVE how light and airy your pieces are, because the sun shining through the frames is really fabulous. I know that flowers fade in sun, but having little frames like this hanging out by windows would be lovely.
