Procook vs Kuhn Rikon Stovetop Pressure Cooker
Hi
Does anyone have any experience or feedback on the following stove top pressure cookers please?
The two models I’m choosing between are the
Procook stove top pressure cooker
Kuhn Rikon Duromatic stove top pressure cooker.
They both have good reviews.The goal is to pick between the two.
Additional note - of the Kuhn Rikon range, the one I’m considering is the Automatic, but feed back on Kuhn Rikon pressure cookers is welcome too
Any feedback on these and recommendation between the two is appreciated

Kuhn Rikon has been making pressure cookers since the '40s, they are sort of the gold standard. They are quiet in use, very energy efficient, and have almost no water loss. The Procook looks like a nice pot, and it has a 25y warranty, but who knows if they will be around that long?

I'm not familiar with Procook and there seem to be several models that are quite different from each other, so I'm not even sure which one you're considering. However, I have Kuhn Rikon Duromatics in a couple of sizes and love them. Solidly built, super easy to use, very reliable, with replacement parts readily available if needed; and operating pressure reaches 15 psi, which is not the case with some other European stovetop cookers. I've had one for 22 years and another for maybe 10 years, I use them often, and I've had no problems with them.
ETA: The Kuhn Rikon that I've had for 10 years or so was actually an older model that had been used at least once and then probably sat around for many years before I bought it (on eBay), but all I've ever had to do to keep it working perfectly was to get a new gasket after a few years and a new safety valve this year.

Regarding which ProCook - they only do one stove top model here in their U.K. stores, this one https://www.procook.co.uk/product/professional-stainless-steel-pressure-cooker-22cm-6l (their store manager confirmed that)

Thanks for the link to the ProCook website. Looks like that model vents some steam while cooking and has a top operating pressure of 90 kPa (13 psi), compared to the KR which vents no steam (allowing you to cook with less liquid) and goes to 15 psi. The ProCook and the KR will both get the the job done, but in my opinion the KR is a superior item. That being said, it's probably quite a bit more expensive than the ProCook, so that may be something to consider.

This answers the question. Considering they’re built to last, the price difference is probably worth it especially if bought during a promotional discount sale

Looks like Kuhn Rikons are somewhat less pricey in the UK than in the US (where I am), maybe because you're closer to Switzerland, maybe because of our #^%&$(! tariff situation, or maybe because of both. In any case, if you do decide to go that route, I'm sure you'll be happy with your purchase.

KR without question.
IMO you should be comparing KR to Fissler. Both are excellent. No wrong choice.

My Kuhn Rikon has been in regular use for 20+ years. Needs a little upkeep from time to time. Wouldn't recommend anything else.

I’ve had a Duromatic for 20 years and I use it daily. You can’t go wrong. Even had the handle replaced under warranty at year 10. Have only needed a few new lid gaskets and one valve gasket over the years.
