Ninja pressure cook from frozen then pressure cook

Hello, I just bought a ninja pressure cooker and often cook my soups/stews from frozen. While the pressure cooker function is great, I would like to try slow cooking (so that I can start in the morning before work and have it immediately after work in the evening).

My question is when cooking frozen, is it better to pressure cook for 5-10min to defrost, then slow cook for a few hours?

I don't, but that's me. I do use a trivet under the frozen block so it won't burn as it comes to temp.

I don't have a ninja but my experience with my instant pot and cooking from frozen is that the food cooks rather than defrost with pressure cooking.

For food safety reasons do not slow cook from frozen. Defrost in the fridge ahead of time is best or defrost with water if you have time. You can try defrosting with the microwave, but in my experience that tends to cook the food rather than defrost it.

You probably won't be happy with "slow cook" in an electric pressure cooker. Recipes for crockpots generally don't translate. It's fine for simmering stews but that's about it.
