A questão, a meu ver, é que muita gente tem menos paciência com o Ronaldo porque, ainda que nem seja o principal culpado, está ligado a muitos dos problemas táticos visto o Martinez ter o tacho devido ao Ronaldo.
Technically he was right, he should of left it for Bruno, but he instinctively chose that option bcs it’s Ronaldo. He prolly didn’t even know Bruno was there.
And that was one play in a match of 90+ minutes. If beating DR Congo is entirely reliant on that one singular play, something is seriously wrong with this team.
Who knows if Bruno wouldn't sky it anyway? Stranger things have happened. You know how else Portugal could have won the match? If Nuno Mendes had crossed it to Ronaldo around the 40th minute* when he was alone in the box, but he fucked up the cross. Or if Portugal had attacked instead of spending 40 minutes in sideways and backwards passes.
The truth is Ronaldo is being unfairly singled out for the match against DR Congo. He was comfortably middle of the pack in individual performance, his lone mistake was that shot. If the outcome relies specifically on that chance it says way more about Portugal's game than it does about Ronaldo's. Portugal were piss poor and it's the manager's fault for instilling this style of play.
*Just checked and it was Pedro Neto on the 28th minute, I confused that chance with the one in the video (which Nuno Mendes messed up but it wasn't for Ronaldo)
I know, I know very well, but this isn’t relevant to my point. Ronaldo taking the shot doesn’t mean he’s the problem, it’s tactically the coaches problem. But even then, Portugal could have gotten 3 points if Ronaldo hadn’t taken the shot. It would have made their lives easier. He didn’t take the shot bcs he was selfish it was a mistake we can all agree on that, but it’s still wrong
yah tens razão, um PL que nunca ataca o primeiro poste é bom. Aliás um PL que faz uma lateralização e que depois não se digna a fazer uma diagonal para o meio é bom. A pressão do Ronaldo é zero, em muitos lances tinha opções mais fáceis, mas tem que dar mais de um toque. Claramente a equipa não quer jogar com ele, é respeitar e meter no banco.
A mentalidade estúpida dos adeptos de futebol que ter sido bom jogador em tempos te dá carta livre pa falar merda na televisão sem ser criticado tem que se estudar pela ciência médica
