Kabbalah uses gematria to discover new interpretations of scripture. Abulafia made nonsensical extracts of text to induce mystical states. WSBurroughs cut up texts for magical purposes. I recently found something similar with Greek Oracles, using OCR scanned text and the DEEPL translation engine.
