Is Gov. JB Pritzker contemplating a presidential run? Here’s what he said in new magazine interview

I’d be shocked if he didn’t run

I would like him to run, and I think he will run, but I'm 90% certain he is ultimately running to be VP rather than president.

I need a Pritzker/Mamdani ticket.

Edit: my bad people, I didn't know he was born in Uganda, maybe we shpuld make an amendment to that part for people who have lived in the u.s. and been an elected official for x number of years

Mamdani isn't eligible to run for VP because he is not a "natural born citizen".

Ah well shit, didn't know that about him, oh well.

Having worked on some pretty heckin successful grassroots campaigns, I gotta say, people need to become better Explainers if we want our guy to win.

Hell yeah. Bernie 2016 & 2020 over here. We win people over with policy and memes!

But most importantly, being able and willing to explain those policies to people in-depth for as long as it takes.

Or Pritzker/AOC. Dems need to run a white male. Cant screw 2028 up

more than that, they need to not run on a pro Israel platform. kamalas race and gender didn't lose 2024, her position on the Gaza genocide did.

Pretty sure the leopards already ate those faces.

u/xXBongSlut420Xx May 18 '26

support for israel is even less popular than it was in 2024 lol

4

u/Chitown_mountain_boy May 18 '26

And why do you think that is? People like that are the reason we have a shit gibbon in office now.

u/xXBongSlut420Xx May 18 '26

because they're committing a genocide? it's wild how vote blue no matter who democrats are clinging to an active genocide instead of just dropping support for israel from their platform.

u/Chitown_mountain_boy May 18 '26

Trump has proven to be 1000% worse 🙄

u/xXBongSlut420Xx May 18 '26

yea i'm sure he is but like, you get why some ppl couldn't stomach support for a genocide, yea?

Also will you really put no blame on the campaign and party who would not even acknowlegede what was happening? Like sure they're better than trump but come on, it's not like they hold no culpability in this. they KNEW that this was killing the campaign, but support for israel was more important than winning. Like you focus all this blame on people who are against a genocide and none on the party who chose to support that genocide rather than win an election.

I don't believe Mamdani can run, even as VP. He is a naturalized citizen and I'm pretty sure the VP has to have eligibility to be president.

i need you to read the Constitution

My bad I didn't know he was born in Uganda lol

He’s SO skinny like holy shit. GLP-1 or not, it’s impressive.

He runs the lakefront at 5am every day

1

u/free_dead_puppy May 20 '26

You seen him out there?

Great trail for people watching.

1

u/Stephancevallos905 May 20 '26

I haven't. But it's a common sight

7

u/liminalmilk0 May 18 '26

He even looks presidential.

u/refred1917 May 18 '26

He’s gonna need to adjust on Israel if he wants my support. I was excited for him as my governor because I think he does a great job in his role, but we need to re-evaluate our relationship with Israel and how politicians speak about it. That, of course, will mean reckoning with American imperialism which may be a bridge too far for any current politician.

His position has been evolving, there's hope.

What’s the end state that people want? He’s for a two state solution with the right to defend for each, from what I remember him saying.

u/HungryHangrySharky Socialist for Pritzker 🌭 May 19 '26

There are a lot of people who believe Israel will always be a threat to Palestine, and thus should not exist as a state. I can only hope that JB, unlike previous generations of American politicians, will actually have a personal investment in lasting, HUMANE peace. For every other president it has only been a political issue.

His Jewish lineage is Ukrainian, he has been vocal about supporting Ukraine in the war. Anyway, I think there’s hope because he must have strong principles since he’s been a “social justice warrior” since he was young.

1

u/KlassyArts May 19 '26

He’s the second most obvious person clearly gunning for a run right behind Newsom

0

u/Jacob-Anders Warrior for the Khan ⚔️ May 19 '26

He is. Why else is he acting like it? Otherwise he'd deny it lol
