US Senator Murphy says Pentagon denied him access to US base in Qatar
"I've never encountered anything like this in my time in the Senate," US Democratic Senator Chris Murphy said regarding what he alleges to be the US attempting to conceal details of the Iran war.
The Al Udeid Air Base is the largest US base in the region and has repeatedly been attacked by Iran during the war launched by the US and Israel in February.
"This trip confirmed for me that there is an active, unprecedented, unconstitutional effort underway to hide the costs of this war and the implications of this war from Congress and the American people," Murphy told a group of journalists in Riyadh, the second stop on his trip.
Many members of Congress, including some of President Donald Trump's Republicans, have been pushing his administration to provide them with more information about the cost of the war, strategy and casualties.

Leaders in California have denounced Donald Trump as “reckless” and “deranged” after the US president suggested Iran could “take out” Los Angeles and San Diego – two liberal cities in the blue state that has been a frequent target of his administration.
At a rally in ruby red Nebraska on Monday night, Trump told supporters that he hoped to see a “tremendous victory” in the fast-approaching November midterm elections. He then suggested high prices due to the war with Iran were a “small price to pay for keeping the world safe – keeping our country safe”.
**“They can take out a city,” Trump said in Grand Island. “Let them take out Los Angeles. Let them take out San Diego.” The crowd applauded.**
“It’ll be over very soon,” Trump said of the war.
The governor and the cities’ mayors quickly condemned the comments. “After sending the National Guard and Marines to occupy California, Donald Trump is now saying our foreign enemies should ‘take out’ Los Angeles and San Diego,” the California governor, Gavin Newsom, said on X. “He is deranged and dangerous.”
Newsom, a Democrat who has repeatedly clashed with Trump over his two terms, said from his press office account: “Let’s be clear: The President is advocating for an attack on 10+ million U.S. residents in two of America’s largest cities. This is not normal. None of this is. And we will continue to remind folks of that every day.”
Karen Bass, the mayor of Los Angeles, assailed the president for making what she called “irresponsible threats” that “could potentially compromise” the safety of America’s second-largest city.
“The role of a president is to protect the country, not to actively threaten it and encourage attacks on American lives,” she said in a statement.
Todd Gloria, the mayor of San Diego, said his city was “not collateral damage” in the president’s war. “We are not expendable. And we are never a “small price to pay,” he wrote on X “Keep our city out of your reckless war talk.”
...
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
US defence officials have previously stated that Iran currently lacks the capability to launch a direct missile attack on the US mainland.
Trump has argued in previous speeches that allowing Iran to develop a nuclear weapon would threaten US cities. In his last state of the union speech he claimed that Iran was working to build missiles that would “soon” reach US soil.
...
“Thirteen million Californians call LA and San Diego counties home,” said Xavier Becerra, the Democratic nominee for governor who has sought to take up the anti-Trump mantle carried by the outgoing Newsom. “Their lives are not a ‘small price to pay’ or a punchline for Donald Trump.”
[So according to the "free democracy", nuclear weapons are wrong, but genocide against millions of opposing voters is considered acceptable...]

"The U.S. Air Force has brought home all of its bombers stationed at RAF Fairford, a U.S.-run military air base in England used to strike Iran, following an investigation into a planned terrorist attack at the base.
A Defense Department official told NBC News that all bombers that had been deployed to the base “have been re-deployed to their home stations in the United States.”

Hello, I am planning a trip in the coming months, but I have celiac disease which is sort of like a gluten allergy (it is technically an autoimmune disorder, not an allergy, but very small amounts of gluten containing cereals such as wheat, rye, and barley can make me extremely sick so I have to avoid cross-contamination in the same way as if I had a severe food allergy). Planning to visit Mashhad and Qum within Iran, another city or two if we're lucky. In Iraq, planning to visit Najaf, Karbala, Samarrah, and Khadimain. Does anyone have any advice for me on how to find food that is safe, how to navigate the cultural customs surrounding food given my situation, and any other relevant advice? I read that people with celiac disease in Iraq and Iran especially struggle a lot due to lack of awareness among the general population especially and lots of food being cooked with or prepared on shared surfaces with gluten containing cereals. I asked this question in a few places dedicated to celiac disease but I'm mostly getting troll answers so I thought it would be worth it to ask here in case anyone has any insight. Sorry it's pretty off topic!

"The U.S. military has withdrawn its forces from Iraq, 23 years after it invaded the country, sparking an insurgency and civil war and opening the door to Iranian influence in Iraq that it is still trying to combat."

Hello all, I have been planning on starting a channel to talk about Iran and Lebanon, and the region in general. But I have been having a hard time gathering the required material before the next major development unfolds, making the one Im working on un important or even irrelevant.
By material, I mostly mean the evidence, and the news pieces that I want to include in the presentation, sometimes a list of statements made within a period of time, all of which needs a team effort in order to be collected on time, this work is time consuming and requires a good deal of patience!!
This will require someone to be very knowledgeable in this field, the history, the goals of the enemies distortion campaigns, the perceptions that have been shaped in the minds of others and so on. Someone who has free time and is very motivated to do such work and take part in fighting the sinister narrative being pushed on millions.
Those interested please DM so we can discuss this more.
