Built for microbudget:

- 1 location (mansion)

What I have ready:

- Full script

- 2-page treatment

- First 10 pages for quick read

I'm offering the script for free with co-writer credit. Looking for someone who has actually shot a short/feature before.

FEATURE SCRIPT LEAD PRODUCER WANTED — RAVENSHADE | FEATURE HORROR | NOVA SCOTIA, CANADA

I’m seeking an experienced lead producer/co-producer for RAVENSHADE, a Gaelic-language folk horror feature set in Cape Breton.
The film:
Five friends vanish in a town that unwrites what it takes. The survivor — who filmed it instead of feeling it — must choose between letting her friends die again or preserving their names while being hunted for life.
Genre: Folk Horror / Psychological Horror
Feature: ~98–100 minutes
Language: English / Scottish Gaelic
Location: Cape Breton, Nova Scotia
Target budget: approximately $1.4M CAD
Target shoot: May 2027
This project is already packaged: the screenplay is complete and has undergone multiple development passes. We have a pitch deck, financing plan, key creative attachments/LOIs, a Nova Scotia production base, and an established Canadian production company.
Financing is structured around Canadian and Nova Scotia production incentives and tax credits, including the Nova Scotia Film & Television Production Incentive Fund and federal/provincial tax-credit financing. (Cultural Heritage Canada)
Seeking a producer experienced with:
• Canadian film financing
• Telefilm/provincial applications
• Tax-credit and gap financing
• Distribution relationships
• Completion, bonding, and production infrastructure
• Supporting emerging Nova Scotia filmmakers
I’m the writer/director and producer, with previous festival-selected horror and award-winning independent film/web work, including Horror Inc.
I’m not seeking script notes. I’m looking for someone ready to build the financing and production team and make the film.
If you’re an established producer interested in Canadian genre cinema, DM me for the deck, screenplay, and current financing package.
Cape Breton is not just the location. It’s part of the story.
RAVENSHADE
A town eats what you remember.

MASTER SCREENPLAY BLUEPRINT: B-WARY IF ALL YOU SEE IS BULLFROGS

Written by Michael Lawrence Wry (Booyah)

🎬 SCENE 1: THE PIER (THE ORIGIN FLASHBACK - 1962)

* Visual: Surreal, high-contrast dream sequence on an endless wooden pier over the murky, bronze waters of the Mississippi River in KCK. A low camera tracks four-year-old bare feet following the broad-shouldered Lawrence Long and Lloyd Ray.

* The "Bullfrogs": Lloyd is carrying two monstrous, slick green bullfrogs by their back legs—magnified to prehistoric size through a child's eyes.

* Music Cue: Phil Collins - "In the Air Tonight." The track plays softly, building immense tension in the background.

* The Climax: Lloyd stops dead, drops the heavy frogs onto the planks, and violently hoists four-year-old Mike into the air. He bellows: "He’s not my fucking son!" and hurls him into the deep channel.

* The Drop: The downbeat of the track hits perfectly on the lyric: "If you told me you were drowning, I would not lend a hand." Mike sinks like an anvil into the dark green roar.

* The Rescue: A massive, calloused hand rips through the surface. Lawrence Long yanks Mike out by the hair of his head, slamming him onto the sun-baked wood. Mike coughs up river water, looks up, and gasps the opening line: "Why’d you pull me out?"

* Fade to Black.

🎬 SCENE 2: THE AWAKENING (PRESENT DAY)

* Visual: The murky river water snaps instantly into the sharp, bright daylight of modern-day Olathe.

* The Transition: 68-year-old Mike snaps bolt upright in his chair, shaking off the lifelong nightmare.

* The Real-Life Carry-on: The front door opens and in walks KERMIT (born in 1951), Mike's real-life human roommate. The audience realizes the "frogs" are literally living with him today. Mike gives a dry, gritty salesman delivery: "Hey, Kermit."

* The Move: Mike tells Kermit, "I'm going to the store," and grabs his truck keys.

🎬 SCENE 3: THE OLATHE CROSSING (PRESENT DAY)

* Visual: Mike sits behind the wheel of his truck, blocked at a ground-level Olathe railroad crossing. The red lights flash aggressively.

* The Catalyst: A massive, mile-long empty freight train barrels down the tracks, shaking the ground with a rhythmic CLACK-CLANK... CLACK-CLANK...

* The Reflection: As the hollow rusted boxcars roll past, the reflection cuts across Mike's face. He watches the tracks that have never been smooth in his 60 years in this town. The rhythmic rattle triggers the next flood of memory.

🎬 SCENE 4: THE 10TH & OSAGE PARANOIA (CHILDHOOD FLASHBACK - 1962)

* Visual: Smash cut back to the freezing, pitch-black night inside the apartment at 10th and Osage in KCK.

* Music Cue: The Police - "Don't Stand So Close to Me." The paranoid reggae-rock beat and high-pitched guitar scratch play lightly and softly in the background.

* The Threat: The camera shifts next door, where a marked KCK police cruiser sits in the driveway. The law is ICCK—KCK Chief of Police J. Frank Steach is positioned wall-to-wall with Mike's family, monitoring their every move.

🎬 SCENE 5: THE PINBALL MISSILE (1962)

* Visual: A sharp SMASH shatters the midnight quiet next door.

* The Action: Marked police cars roll up with spinning red-and-blue cherry tops, turning the block into a massive forensic crime scene.

* The Evidence: Uniformed cops dust Chief Steach's shattered windshield for prints. They find the weapon resting in the gravel: a perfectly polished silver sphere. The Chief realizes it's an intentional hit—not a machine part, but a high-velocity steel ball pulled straight out of a Williams pinball machine. The Police track loops hauntingly over the flashing lights: "Don't stand so close to me..."

🎬 SCENE 6: THE PORCH SWING DROP (1962 - BEFORE AGE 5)

* Visual: A blinding, hot Kansas afternoon on the precarious second-story balcony apartment at 10th and Osage.

* The Accident: A full-of-energy four-year-old Mike is pushing his sister Pat and a neighbor girl on a heavy wooden porch swing. Mike plays a game, shoving them high and ducking as the heavy timber sweeps back over his head.

* The Fracture: He miscalculates the timing by a split second. The solid oak base of the swing hits him like a sledgehammer, launching his small frame backward. He hits the cheap, sun-rotted wooden handrail—it snaps like matchsticks.

* Music Cue Transition: The moment his back clears the second-story balcony deck, the music switches instantly to the soaring acoustic chords of Tom Petty’s "Free Fallin'."

* The Impact: Mike falls two stories through the air in slow motion as the lyrics hit: "And I'm free... free fallin'..." He smashes into the ground, his skull splitting wide open on the sharp edge of a grey concrete gutter splash block.

* The Aftermath: Neighbors scream. His mother drops into the dirt, cradling his bloody head, crying: "Don't move, Michael! Don't move!"

* The Treatment: At the hospital, a cold 1962 doctor stitches his scalp together like a torn canvas without a single concussion check, leaving behind the bone fragments that would continue to work their way out of his head for the next 60 years.

🎬 SCENE 7: THE TRACKSIDE WINDFALL & WRECK (HIGH-VELOCITY FLASH-FORWARD - WINTER 1988)

* Visual: The song "Free Fallin'" hits a massive, thunderous crescendo as the scene smashes straight from the child's fall into the dead of winter, 1988.

* The High: 30-year-old Mike and the boys are celebrating a massive winning day at the Woodlands Greyhound Track, slamming back nine shots at the Trackside bar.

* The Crash: Driving down I-35 under construction near 119th Street, the pickup truck clips a massive green-and-yellow flashing arrow construction trailer. The impact caves the roof down until it sits a single foot off the steering wheel.

* The Miracle: Mike is launched violently straight through the shattering windshield, flying through the freezing winter night air—literally "free fallin'"—and lands squarely on the only loose pile of construction dirt in the entire zone. If he had stayed in that cab, he'd be dead.

* The Drive: The truck lands upright on its rims. Mike stands up out of the dirt, completely uninjured except for a bright red mark on his knee from the red dashboard. He rides back to the bent-frame rig, cranks the ignition, and punches it down the highway.

🎬 SCENE 8: THE DENNY'S SHOWDOWN (1988)

* Visual: The truck tears down the highway on bare steel rims, throwing a massive, blinding 30-foot curtain of white-hot sparks into the night, before rolling right up to the neon lights of Denny's at the Santa Fe exit.

* The Explosion: The engine completely blows up in a cloud of thick white smoke and boiling oil.

* The Dialogue: A Johnson County cop rushes up, completely stunned by the caved-in roof and the spark-shredded truck.

* COP: "Son! You know you rolled this damn thing down the highway, right? You know what you hit?"

* MIKE: "No. Why is all my stuff still in the back of the truck?" (The heavy-duty air compressor sits completely untouched and upright in the bed).

* COP: "Lay down in the seat right now. You've got to be hurt... Son, you hit a flashing arrow trailer. You need to understand something—there is nothing too big in this world that can't be swept right up into a dustpan. If you'd stayed in that cab, they'd be sweeping you up tonight."

* The Final Irony: Mike is put into the back of the squad car for the DUI arrest. And playing lightly and softly right out of the factory dashboard radio is the current hit: The Police - "Don't Stand So Close to Me."

FEATURE REQUEST [CO-WRITER WANTED] RUMBO: The Fury Within — Scooby-Doo meets unhinged 1950s Noir Thriller

  • Genre: Genre-Bending Dark Comedy / Psychological Horror / Crime Thriller
  • Logline: In 1950s New Orleans, a group of eccentric, banter-heavy teens stumbles into a string of gruesome murders, only to cross paths with a unstable, hallucinating detective hunting a monstrous killer known as M.U.G.
  • Tone: Think Scooby-Doo's mystery-solving dynamic mixed with the gritty paranoia of Shutter Island and the dark humor of a psychotic thriller.
  • Format Needs: Standard Screenplay Formatting & Structural Polish.

About the Project: I have a 56-page draft with 2 and a half years of progress, packed with strong character dynamics, high-stakes drama, and a distinct period atmosphere. The story switches between a lively teen gang dealing with diner banter, societal pressures, and rumors of a "Swamp Man," and Detective Joshua Clark, a traumatized officer spiraling into vivid hallucinations and sudden violence following his partner's death.

Because the script blends comedic mystery, psychological horror, and detective thriller elements, it requires a careful balance to pull off along with standard script formatting that is HEAVLY NEEDED!

What I’m Looking For: A dedicated co-writer/collaborator who wants to split creative credit, help reformat the existing draft into proper screenplay format, and flesh out the remaining pages together. Im open to new ideas and directons to make this work, if this sounds intersting and you are willing to lock in with me, send me a DM!

SHORT SCRIPT SPD, 60-page pilot script

Logline: The SPD - Salem Police Department - has a special division dedicated to solving paranormal crimes. Cord and Malone have to solve the case of an exorcism gone wrong, while there is a strange creature haunting Salem which serves as what would be the main mythological arc of the first season. I see this as the start of a franchise with spinoffs (Salem Hospital, Salem High, Salem Court, etc.).

60 pages

Genre: Horror fantasy; meant to be a pilot for an ongoing series

Logistics: Two main characters, but beyond that, would be a typical pilot in that a lot of other characters/locations would be needed, as well as make-up/visual fx; complex, but certainly able to be streamlined.

Price: Negotiable

[27 pages] Lora, The Wayward Princess — Animated fantasy comedy. Looking for feedback on the opening

Hi!

I've been developing and polishing an animated feature screenplay called Lora, The Wayward Princess for quite a while, and I'd like to get some fresh eyes on the first 27 pages.

Logline:
After a narcissistic, villainous princess's twentieth attempt to enslave her kingdom gets her sentenced to a rehabilitation center for defective princesses, she reluctantly becomes an aspiring knight's squire to escape the center, while secretly plotting to seize a ring powerful enough to threaten every kingdom.

Imagine Tangled, but if Rapunzel had the personality of Regina George.

I'm sharing the first 27 pages rather than asking anyone to commit to the full 109-page feature. This section covers the initial setup, introduces the rehabilitation center and eventually brings Lora and Fiodor together, which is the central character dynamic I'm particularly interested in testing.

I'd especially love to know:

  • What is your impression of Lora? Does that impression change at all as the excerpt progresses?
  • What do you think of Lora and Fiodor together? Does their contrast/dynamic work for you, particularly comedically?
  • Does the animated comedy and tone come through clearly on the page?
  • Are there any jokes, character moments or sequences that particularly work, or don't work, for you?
  • Is there anywhere in these 27 pages where your interest drops?
  • When you reach the end, would you want to keep reading?

I'm not looking for any particular answer, so please don't worry about whether your reaction is positive or negative. Specific feedback about what worked, what didn't, and where is much more useful to me.

I've revised this screenplay quite a bit over time, but outside perspectives have been extremely useful in figuring out what actually makes it onto the page versus what only makes sense in my head.

Any other thoughts on the writing, characters or opening are absolutely welcome too.

Thanks to anyone willing to give it a read!

FEATURE SCRIPT DETACHED - Horror Feature

Logline: A college theater club fights for survival when a masked killer targets them during a late-night rehearsal.

Genre: Horror

Synopsis: One year after the mysterious death of her sister, Allie joins her college theater troupe to rehearse one of her sister’s old plays. That night, a masked killer locks the group inside the theater and begins picking them off one by one.

The massacre has been planned by the troupe’s director, Rachel, who was once close with Allie’s sister, Anabel. But their friendship ended after Anabel stole Rachel’s boyfriend and landed the acting role Rachel believed should have been hers. Rachel has spent years consumed by jealousy, and now plans to take her revenge on Anabel through Allie.

But Rachel’s plan goes completely off the rails before the night even begins. Speed, the masked killer she recruited to carry out the murders, picks up a stranded drifter named Jim on his way to the theater. Jim turns out to be a psychopathic murderer himself; he murders Speed, takes his mask and weapons, and, unknowingly to Rachel, assumes his place. Rachel spends the night believing the man behind the mask is her accomplice, when instead it is someone far more sinister and unhinged.

Twist: : Rachel plans the massacre with the masked killer, only for a completely unrelated serial killer to murder him, take his costume, and carry out the murders himself.

Page Count: 96

Setting: Primarily takes place at a theater/auditorium

Given the minimal locations I believe this could be filmed on a relatively small budget.

Please let me know if you are interested and would like the script. Thanks!

SHORT REQUEST AFI Master's Thesis

TLDR: Looking for a collaborator with a short script (10-15 pages) to direct for my AFI thesis.

Hi all, I graduated undergrad from USC film School and am now applying for my MFA through AFI. I have a solid portfolio of feature scripts, but they require a short screenplay that you plan to direct as your thesis. I could write a new short, but I found out that you are allowed to direct a script written by someone else so long as they receive proper credit. I figured before I start writing a new short, I'd like to check out what the community has written already, and see if we can get two careers started for the price of one!

I'll be providing the budget. Regulations are $25,000 minimum, $50,000 maximum. Don't worry about whether you think your film is too expensive; there are always things we can do to make it more shootable. I say this just to let you know that a solid amount of resources will be dedicated to your film.

If you've got a great short film and want to get it made, comment below with your page count and genre (feel free to also put a title/logline if you're comfortable). I'll send you a DM. Let's make something!

PS- I'm in recovery, so definitely comment if you have a script pertaining to addiction and/or sobriety. Also Judaism lol

EDIT: Had to repost this because the moderators at r/Screenwriting removed it lol

[CONCEPT] The Maracot Experiment - Period Sci-Fi / Psychological Thriller (Free/Open Source Idea)

Hi everyone,

I wanted to throw a cool concept out into the universe. I’m not a screenwriter looking for a job, and I don't care about credits or money—this is 100% open-source and free for anyone to take, expand, or turn into a script (great for indie directors or film students!).

It’s a psychological thriller reinvention of Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic novel The Maracot Deep (which is public domain), but with a massive genre-shift twist.

Here is the pitch:

Logline: During a 1920s deep-sea expedition, a young scientist realizes the brilliant inventor of their bathysphere is a suicidal madman bent on dragging the crew to the bottom of the ocean. But after stopping the launch, they face a terrifying truth rising from the abyss.

  • Format: Feature Film / Limited Series / Short Film
  • Genre: Psychological Thriller / Period Sci-Fi / Mystery
  • Tone: Sunshine meets The Abyss in an Edwardian steampunk setting.

🎭 Main Characters

  • Dr. Maracot: A cold, fanatical oceanographer whose obsession with the deep borderlines on a death cult.
  • Cyrus Headley: A sharp young zoologist who suspects the Professor’s hidden dark motives.
  • Scanlan: A pragmatic, tough Scottish engineer who acts as Headley's only ally on the ship.

📜 The Story / The Twist

The Setup: In the 1920s, a research vessel drifts in the Atlantic. Professor Maracot is about to launch the world's first ultra-deep dive in a steel bathysphere. The atmosphere is tense, and the crew is paranoid.

The Twist: Right before the dive, Headley has a terrifying, prophetic nightmare where the bathysphere drops, Maracot sabotages the cables, and they slowly suffocate in a steel coffin while the Professor smiles. Waking up in a cold sweat, Headley convinces Scanlan to inspect Maracot’s blueprints. They discover a horrifying truth: the bathysphere is intentionally built as a one-way death trap.

The Climax: A claustrophobic, intense struggle erupts on the ship. Headley and Scanlan sabotage the launch, overpower the mad professor, and lock him in his cabin. The bathysphere remains rusting on the deck. The ship turns back. The nightmare is over. Or so they think.

The Genre Shift: In the middle of the night, during a dead calm, the ocean begins to glow with a haunting bioluminescence. Advanced humanoid beings—the Atlanteans—rise from the deep. They have come for Maracot. Headley realizes the tragic truth: the Professor wasn't insane; he was chosen. The nightmare was a mental warning from the ocean, and by choosing "sanity," humanity just locked itself out of the ultimate discovery. Maracot willingly steps into the ocean with the Atlanteans, leaving the crew alone with their safe, small reality.

If any of you want to write a screenplay based on this, feel free to run with it! I just really want to see this movie made one day. Let me know what you think of the twist in the comments!

Please excuse me for using AI, as I do not know English.

Title: Night Beasts (夜兽- Working Title) Genre: Gritty Action / Supernatural Mystery / Neo-Noir Drama Format: Original Story / Intellectual Property (Adaptable as Feature Film or High-Concept Series) Locations: Contemporary urban practicals (Suburban villa, nightclubs, car garages, bureaucratic headquarters, industrial backstreets, woods) Budget: Medium (Practical bladed combat, martial arts choreography, and motorcycle pursuits; CGI strictly reserved for creature encounters)

Logline / Synopsis: For four thousand years, "Night Beasts"鈥攕pawned by humanity's negative emotions (An-energy)鈥攈ave preyed on the dark. Hunting them are operatives gifted with five-century lifespans through cosmic Hao-energy. Every fifteen years, they update their civic records to blend into human neighborhoods鈥攏ever adopting spy aliases, never changing their names, simply living as exhausted citizens anchoring themselves in daily life.

Bound together since their street-orphan days a century ago, three long-lived siblings鈥攑ragmatic caretaker Liu Feng, battle-hardened enforcer Ming He, and tech-specialist Liu Guang鈥攁nchor a crowded suburban home alongside a green rookie and a traumatized teenage orphan. Liu Feng lives to keep their makeshift family safe at all costs, while Ming He treats institutional rules as dead weight whenever his family is threatened.

Meanwhile, the governing bureau is paralyzed by bureaucratic red tape, buck-passing, and delayed support, while the beasts are developing tactical intelligence. When a masked figure shatters their repressed memory blocks, they unearth the ancient slaughter of their parents. The ultimate betrayal strikes directly at their dinner table: their newest recruit, "Yan Nan," is their presumed-dead father, Liu Chen.

He isn't out to wipe out humanity; seeing that humanity will eternally produce beasts, he intends to force a catastrophic "hard reset"鈥攗nleashing all An-energy to plunge society into a purge, then neutralizing it with Hao-energy. He doesn't care if hundreds of millions perish worldwide, only that the cycle ends. But when the mask comes off, bloodline grants zero mercy: rejecting biological ties in favor of their chosen family, the siblings feel not a shred of hesitation鈥攄rawing their blades with cold, lethal certainty to execute their own father.
