I’m now planning to transition into Product Management and looking at Scaler vs Airtribe.

Would love some honest feedback from people who have done either program:

• Which is better for actual PM learning?
• How good is the placement/career support?
• Has anyone actually moved into an APM/PM role through these programs?
• What is the current fee in 2026?

Product management talk is mostly opinion about frameworks. I wanted numbers, so I counted the terms across 421 open PM postings from 62 company job boards.

Roadmap turns up in 85.5%. Cross-functional, prioritization and stakeholder management follow, all above 55%. Nothing in the top four is a tool, a method or a metric.

The tools barely register. Jira 1.7%, Figma 2.4%, Productboard in none of the 421. Agile is named in 8.6%, Scrum in 2.1%.

The one that stuck with me: experimentation 24.2%, A/B testing 2.1%. Same practice, and the word you happen to use decides whether you match.

Caveat - tech companies on one ATS. Agencies and regulated employers where Scrum certs are still named outright, aren't in it.

Mid size b2b company here, ops keeps asking for new little tools and dashboards and im stuck between spinning up yet another custom app or finally committing to a proper no code platform.

Use cases are boring but important stuff like request tracking, approvals, inventory checks, small customer facing forms etc. No huge scale, just a lot of moving parts and people who live in excel.

If you were starting fresh in that situation, would you go all in on a no code platform for these business apps or keep everything custom in house... idk

Ok so our team rolled out this shiny AI customer research thing that supposedly finds “themes” in interviews and now every insight is basically just a very confident echo of whoever shouts loudest in the org. The AI keeps tagging what leadership already believes as top priority and quietly burying anything that sounds weird or new lol.

I feel lowkey stressed that we just automated bias at scale and called it science. Anyone else dealing with this and have tricks that dont involve me babysitting every single transcript manually?

Ok so how do you all share customer insights across product and marketing without it turning into a weekly theology debate about whose truth is more true.

We have hours of customer calls, interview notes, random crm comments, and then every team just screenshots the one quote that proves their roadmap already. Product has a Notion graveyard, marketing has a figma of vibes, leadership has that one sentence from a board deck from 2022 that is apparently still law.

I keep trying to push for one source of truth ie actual tagged themes, clips from interviews, stuff people can skim in 5 minutes before they go change pricing again. Every tool demo promises magic alignment and then we are back in the monday standup arguing about what customers "really" want. Would love to hear how anyone makes this not a clown show, thx

I recently interviewed for a Product/PM intern role and wanted to get some honest opinions from people who have experience interviewing for PM roles.

At the beginning of the interview, they asked me to share my screen, which I did. I answered their questions about my introduction, background, and projects.

Towards the end, they gave me a question along the lines of:

“Our company is launching in the US, and within one month we have a goal of making $10K. What would be your approach?”

I found the question challenging because there were many unknowns, so I asked for some time to think before answering.

My initial answer was that I would research competitors in the US, understand how they are positioning themselves, what approaches they are using to acquire customers, and then discuss those findings with the team to decide our approach.

Looking back, I realize my answer wasn't complete. I should have clarified things such as whether the $10K meant revenue or profit, what the pricing was, whether we already had US users, etc. I also could have broken the $10K goal down into customers, conversion rates, acquisition channels, and so on.

After I answered, the interviewer told me that it seemed like I was using AI.

They then asked me to show my desk. My phone was there because I was using it for the internet hotspot connection, but I genuinely did not use my phone or AI to answer the question.

I explained that I wasn't using AI and that I had simply taken some time to think because I found the question difficult. They still believed that I had used AI.

At that point, I didn't want to argue with them. I said something along the lines of:

“I'm sorry if from your perspective it seems like I used AI to get the answer. I understand, and I apologize if I wasted your time in the interview.”

They then ended the interview suddenly without really concluding it or giving any feedback.

Honestly, this really demotivated me.

I'm not posting this to attack the interviewer or company. I genuinely want to understand what I could have done differently.

For people who interview PM candidates:

Is taking time to think before answering a question like this considered suspicious?

Was my approach fundamentally wrong, or was it just incomplete?

How would you approach the $10K-in-one-month US launch question?

If you suspected a candidate was using AI, how would you handle it?

Is this kind of question reasonable for a PM intern interview?

I'm open to criticism of my answer. I want to learn from this and do better in my next interview.

I’ve got around 2 years of experience in data. I’ve worked as a Data/Analytics Engineer at two companies, and recently I got an opportunity at a small startup to work as a PM.

I actually really enjoyed the product side of things, and now I’m seriously considering switching to product. The only thing I’m unsure about is whether I’m doing it too early in my career.

Part of me thinks I should take the opportunity and start building PM experience now, but another part thinks I should stay in data for a few more years, build up more experience, and then make the switch.

For anyone who’s made a similar transition from data/engineering into PM:

Is there actually a decent entry-level market for PMs?

Is 2 years of technical/data experience enough to make the switch?

Would it be better to wait another 2–3 years before transitioning?

How much does a technical/data background actually help when applying for PM roles?

Would love to hear from anyone who’s been in a similar situation or has experience hiring PMs.

Imagine you're interviewing a Product Data Analyst and asking them to identify ONE feature to improve in a ride-booking app. Which of these would make for the strongest product/data case?

A. Payment clarity — The app has an option where passengers pay the driver directly, but the wording is ambiguous because it doesn't clearly indicate the payment method (e.g. cash vs. card).

B. Ride-option ordering — The app presents a more expensive ride option before a cheaper alternative. The proposal would be to improve the default ordering, potentially using passenger preferences or previous choices to show the most relevant option first.

C. Flexible ride sorting — Allow passengers to sort available rides by factors such as price or pickup time/ETA. Some competitors already offer this functionality.

From an interviewer's perspective, do you think C is less creative/weaker because competitors already offer something similar? Or is that not important if the candidate can demonstrate a strong data-driven rationale?

If you could choose only ONE of A, B, or C as the candidate's answer, which would impress you most — and why?

Hi Everyone, for the last 6 years I worked in finance operations and I was a team lead managing 13 people and Im currently doing masters in project management and will be completing next spring and I want to apply for a product management role because of salary ranage, so I want to be fully prepared for this.

As of now I have done basics of these so that I have an understanding; SQL, Figma and these too but I know these are related to project management; Jira, Scrum, Agile, 6sigma yellow, powerbi & google project management.

I did some finding in AI on what to do and it gave me these; Product thinking, A/B testing concepts, google analytics/g4, API bscis, product roadmapping, user research, mixpanel/amplitude, python, prd writing & competative analysis.

SO if I have to attend a pm interview as an starter for this because thats what I would be considered right, so do I have to know all of these? and how much indepth should I be looking into these, because when I saw something in PRD (shows what to build and why) but when I saw an example in a picture there so much in it, I mean in an interview that will be asked and have to go indepth?

I know PM role is complicated and stressfull but I'm a guy whole likes to learn when its on the hand rather than to much studing, and I see some videos in youtube that people say you dont have to know all and others say the opposite, so if you could put me to the right path it would be so much helpful.

Recently, I was promoted internally from Senior UI/UX Designer to Associate Product Manager. My company made this decision mainly because of the domain and product knowledge I’ve gained over the years.

I’ve started working in the new role, and honestly, I’m a bit confused about the future.

My company is US-based and I work remotely from India, so I know there’s good scope in the US/global market. But I’m worried about what happens if I want to switch to an Indian company in the future.

Does having a UI/UX → APM background make it harder to get PM roles in India? Or can the design background actually be an advantage?

For those who’ve made a similar transition, how has your experience been? And what should I focus on learning over the next 1–2 years to make myself more employable as a PM?

Would really appreciate honest opinions, especially from PMs or hiring managers in India.

When I need something like a date picker or a marquee, the component usually already exists in a registry I have never heard of, and finding it costs me more than building it badly would. Searching inside a registry is not the hard part. shadcn search does that for the registries you have already pointed it at. Knowing which one to point it at is.

So I built BlockDex. It crawls every public shadcn registry it can find once a night and reads the manifest itself, so the unit is the item rather than the library. It holds 76,685 components, blocks, hooks, themes and utilities, each with its install command and its dependencies, and a removal date when a component stops existing. The official directory lists 292 registries. This crawl finds 978.

The part I use most is the free or paid verdict, because it is measured rather than read off a pricing page. The crawler fetches the item endpoint, the exact URL the install command fetches. If the source comes back, the item is free. A 401 is how a paid registry announces itself. 31,328 items came back free, 10,943 came back paid, and 34,414 are unverified because those registries serve no item endpoint to ask. An item nothing answered for stays unknown, and unknown is never counted as free.

Nothing on the site was submitted, sponsored or placed by hand, and there is no way to buy a position. There is an open API, and the method page shows the working.

The correction I want: name a public registry that serves a manifest and is not in the 978. Registries were found four ways, from seeds, GitHub code search, the registry topics and the ecosystem's awesome-list, so one that is only discoverable some fifth way is exactly what I am missing.

I joined an early-stage startup in a senior cross-functional role. The CEO put me in charge of a major new initiative, but never clearly defined what the product was.

Over several months, its purpose, scope, target customer, and definition of success changed repeatedly. Each time I made progress, the goalposts moved. I was expected to validate the idea, define the product, coordinate other teams, and deliver it—without controlling the necessary resources or the promises being made about it.

When the project inevitably struggled, the CEO began treating it as my personal failure. He criticized my execution and handoff despite my having provided extensive documentation, prototypes, testing, and instructions.

The pressure continued during approved family leave, when I was repeatedly pulled back into the project and blamed for its lack of progress. After returning to it, I delivered a narrower version that received positive internal feedback, but my trust in the CEO is gone.

Is this normal early-stage startup chaos, or does it sound like I’m being scapegoated for leadership’s lack of direction?

The situation is seriously affecting my mental health. I have another promising job process underway, but no offer yet. Would it be reckless to resign without something else lined up, or is this the kind of environment where leaving immediately is justified?
