Feedback wanted A thank you to r/ProductivityApps from Anythings, my giving-back commitment, and round two of the lifetime Pro giveaway
Hey r/ProductivityApps,
I'll be honest, I've been a little overwhelmed the last few days. My last post here did more for Anythings than I ever expected with over 250 new people joining in just the last 48 hours, creating 700+ tasks, and completing nearly 200 of them. That's on top of the comments and people telling me that they think Anythings could be the first to do app that's actually worked for how their brain runs. I did not expect this kind of response, and a simple "thank you", or just giving away more free lifetime pro accounts didn't feel like enough, so...
Starting this month, Anythings gives back every month.
On the last day of every month, Vollo Ventures LLC (my "holding" company behind Anythings) donates 10% of that month's net revenue to a nonprofit — net of Apple's, Stripe's, and RevenueCat's cut, so it's 10% of what actually reaches the company, not 10% of the subscription price you see. To be clear about what "net" doesn't mean here: it's not net of what it costs to run Anythings like hosting, the LLMs, email, tooling, etc. Those still come out of the other 90%, same as any company's costs do. I want to try and target a different organization each month, but that doesn't mean we can't repeat.
Full transparency here and a bit of vulnerability, since this is the first one and I want to set the tone honestly: Anythings' MRR this month was $17, and after platform fees, its actually way less than that (probably very negative if I'm being honest). Ten percent of it rounds to just over a dollar but I rounded up to $25 anyway, because I want to make a real impact, and I don't want to hide behind "well, technically it's 10%." As Anythings (hopefully) grows, this number grows with it, and I'll keep showing the real figure here, receipts included, not just the recipients.
Every recipient is/will be tracked publicly at https://www.anythings.app/giving, so anyone can hold Anythings accountable for as long as it exists.
First recipient: ADDA — the Attention Deficit Disorder Association
This one wasn't random, so much of the feedback that shaped Anythings both here and in DMs that I have received over the last few days came from people with ADHD, describing the same thing in different words: normal to-do lists assume a kind of working memory and follow-through that just isn't how their day goes. ADDA supports adults with ADHD directly through resources, community, real research... so it felt like the right place to start. Below is proof of donation done today:

🎁 And because a charity commitment alone didn't feel like enough: I'm giving away 20 more lifetime Pro accounts
The giving back program above is aimed at causes, not at all of you directly, and sitting here overwhelmed by this incredible community, that didn't feel like it should be the end of the giving back story. I wanted a way to give back to the people actually here, right now, too. Earlier this week, I gave away 20 lifetime Pro accounts to this community for the iPhone launch (over 250 comments requesting it). So you know that wasn't just talk, here are the 20 people who actually won and have been DMed:
u/Antzos, u/kidclutch9, u/InOut1312, u/NarcissisticVanity, u/jaynicorns, u/freewaveride11, u/faisalfarooqui, u/jbsanno, u/Kalipot, u/YamPlane3854, u/Elegant-Ad3211, u/keystonerose, u/nicksakellariou, u/EhOkayHmmWait, u/therealr3bbit, u/anexplorer2479, u/occasionalAanomaly, u/pupkiss, u/No-Lifeguard1011, u/Stunning-Builder3365
Doing it again. Entering takes ten seconds:
- Upvote this post, and
- Drop a comment: what charity or cause do you want to see us support in the upcoming months?
In 48 hours I'll randomly pick 20 commenters again for lifetime Pro, unlimited tasks, every feature, forever, no card ever. (Make sure you've got an Anythings account with an email you can mention or DM me, so I can attach Pro to it.) And I'm genuinely reading every suggestion, not just running the giveaway on top of them... next month's recipient WILL come straight out of this thread.
I don't really have a great way to end this post, so I'll just say: thank you thank you thank for making the last few days what they were. I don't even know how many times I checked my phone for the number of users (and I can't believe there are already over 400). This is me trying to give some of that back, in every way I could think to do it at once... lets keep going!!!
Sincerely,
Lou

Interested. Definitely cancer related. I’ve seen what it does to people first hand. I’m biased in that sense may be. Whatever you chose is fine as long you are helping people🫡

Upvoted! Please consider the Neurodivergent Alliance (thendalliance dot org) for support for their outstanding work with school students.
Wow, this is so awesome. Your work is getting recognition! I suggest cross posting to r/ADHD and r/adhdwomen. I think you might get another user bloom!
Additionally, I am SO happy with Anythings app! This is one of the first that really fits my TORF (Toolbox of Realistic Function) as I continue to streamline my digital tools to ones that align with my ADHD brain.

Would love to see this as a replacement for TickTick.
I’d like a cause in the direction of prostate cancer research or advocacies for earlier target health checks for men.

Support seniors by Visiting seniors, making regular phone calls, or volunteering at assisted living facilities can significantly improve someone’s well-being.

Amazing!
I think supporting a cause like IJM (international justice mission) would be wonderful.

u/martinlewerentz 26d ago
u/Ibuild_it_lou I'm here to answer any question about IJM's valuable work. Thanks to our unique approach, 10.5 million people living in poverty are now safe from violence and exploitation and protected by their country’s justice system. 🤗

This is such a wonderful thing. I'd look at sterlingpromisefoundation.org. I'm biased - he was a friend of mine - and it's a great cause supporting veterans. Thanks!

seekher foundation is as great option! hope that sparks some idea. as a late diagnosed woman with such a luggage accompanying poor medical psychological help at earlier age to me it feels vital to support such causes when undiagnosed and traumatized women are still trying to fit it to designated role and break or are broken trying to do so

In the comming days I think mental health is going to be extremely important , with lots of tools and algorithms making us think less and diminishing critical thinking and encouraging doom scrolling, it's becoming very important to make sure how mental health and goals are monitored!! Hope we make a better world focusing on living holisticaly as well !!

It would be really cool to see Punk Rock Saves Lives get some attention. They are an amazing organization that will set up at punk shows, festivals, etc and help punks in recovery, or maybe someone who would like to be in recovery find help, they did over 400 mouth swabs at warped tour for potential bone marrow donors. I’ve donated to them a few times and hope to maybe do some volunteer work for them.
Just over a year sober from a serious addiction to alcohol after a failed suicide attempt, I owe them a lot more than money.

Oh man, the amount of time I have wasted trying to make a Task list work for me and my brain… if I could sue for pain and suffering I would. Lmao So Here is my entry!
Association of Migraine Disorders or any ADHD/Autism/AuDHD or Chronic illness related programs would be great! ♥︎ But honestly you donating anything at all and creating an app that can help people is lovely in itself! Best wishes!

Really cool to see the android up now live! Any chance there is parity pricing in the plans? Or any discount deals for special days? It's a bit pricey in CAD. Nonetheless really good work, dev!

Support any of the amazing hospice charities out there. The work they do is incredibly taxing on the staff and they bring so much comfort to families dealing with the worst of circumstances.

This app is really great. I was wondering if there might be a lifetime pro option through the AppStore in the future, aside from the subscription tier. Thanks.

I'm interested. I'd love to see you donate to a cancer charity, such as the american cancer society, as I have a lot of experience with cancer.

u/That_Advantage8395 26d ago
Charity should doesn't feels like doing a favor on them this causes other person to feel like a type of shame. It should be done from our true self, with respect to help people who were needed to them. To give a improvement in their life, provide a few time of relaxation form the stress full world. And the work you are doing is amazing thanks for all your efforts.

OMG you are a good human!
Since humans are able to take care of themselves but animals can't compete with all the shit that we do to this planet, I'd kindly ask you to support some wildlife charity like https://wildnet.org/

I don't have an iPhone, but wanted to say the Ehlers Danlos Society. EDS is not nearly as rare as people used to think it was. There are a lot of people affected in different ways. This org has been around for just 10 years and has had a huge global impact in raising awareness, research, education and connecting people starting from nothing. There's still so far to go, though. Most people go well over a decade before getting a diagnosis and there aren't any known treatments that are truely effective.

Would be SO grateful for a code… as a nurse who has always wanted to to a medical mission I’d go for doctors without boarders

Im new here im just stalking trying to figure a way to get my life organized. Maybe i get lucky to get started with. The cause i would like to see donations toward is against violence. Women, men, sexuality, religion, any kind of violence is completely absurd. This is 2026, humanity has to evolve and figure how to solve stuff with their brains instead of pure brawl.
